City probably raise the price significantly if Forest say no to the buy back

Exactly, plus they can afford to keep players stockpiled if they don't get what they want. So they let them go with an insurance to be able to buy back the ones that succeed.

Clever from their point of view; but rather grim once again for the spirit of competition.

We are getting their DOF, right?

Seems likely, but unlike our departed DoF he's actually been professional and continued in the role during the most important period of the year.

But why? He's nearly 1 in 1 and played most games  such a Saudi thing

Not a Saudi thing - a contract thing. If hes 2 yrs left on it, and the club wants to get rid of him early through no fault of his own then hes due those wages. Both parties agreed he would get those wages for the fixed period of his contract.

Its why these 8 yr chelsea contracts are so mental.

Forest getting it done. I'm gutted about one of their potential signings. I wont say his name, fuckers dead to me. He's better and cheaper than Wissa though.

What's wrong with his name

Who is it

Kalimeundo, he'd tear this league up with decent service.

I'd take Mcetee too even though i can't be arsed spelling his name rite. Its not as if we couldn't use another midfielder.

Will be mildly irritated if Forest end up getting Luiz and Kalimuendo

It does show their DOF can get signings done quickly first of all and the kind of ones we’d all like here. I wasn’t initially convinced by him as he didn’t have the reputation of Ashworth or Mitchell but Forests recent track record of transfers has been excellent. So looking forward to him working his magic here. Arguably better than Freedman

Who says we even wanted those dudes?

Our recruitment has always been spot on. I don’t even blink when we “miss out” on dudes now. They saw something they didn’t like and moved on to the next one, regardless of what we all thought on here.

This lad was supposed to end up at Villa but they couldn't do the deal because of PSR. I'm sure he'd have played for them.

Just another that City have hoovered up and farmed straight out - add that to the plethora of CBs they beat us to in January just because (Khusanov, Bah, Reis).

I know we're doing the same with the likes of Cordero but I think it's the level of these players that annoys me - they'd easily start for other PL/Serie A/La Liga teams.

Sorry that's not my point.

He's their top scorer with nearly 1 in 1 and played most games last couple seasons, with 2 years left on his contract.

Why on earth would they be paying him to leave   it's like Nottingham Forest paying Chris Wood to leave.
