Sorry, but this is dumb.

Every club below the “Strivers” is faced with very real financial constraints. They’re not commercial behemoths and/or owned by sovereign wealth funds. But they’re hardly rolling over and accepting whatever the Cartel demand. When they do sell purples to the Cartel, they’re generally extracting top fees. The likes of Glasner, Iraola, and Marco Silva are genuinely good managers (who will probably end up at Cartel clubs before long) and those clubs tend to cause a lot of bother. Despite their lack of financial heft, exacerbated by PSR, these clubs are competitive.

Steve Parish personally is a weird little freak, mind.

They’re also feathering their own nests and trying to punch down on any clubs trying to break into the Premier League. They routinely vote like turkeys going for Christmas to empower and reward the same 6 clubs that would have cut them loose and make them an afterthought. They more than any are facilitating the inequality and will become the ultimate victims, the thick cunts.

We are clearly fucked at the moment, unable to move, with owners who want to continue to invest, no debt, but kept in our place by both PSR and the European wages one, whatever it is called.

We should be absolutely buzzing after the last few seasons but instead it feels really flat. Like we're being held back.

I get the need for some form of financial control but the current set up is just so anti-competitive, it is untrue. Can't compete until you're earning the mega money. Can't earn the mega money until you can compete.

So it becomes about the odd season maybe qualifying for the CL, but otherwise being held back.

This sounds very familiar. Drawbridge well and truly pulled up this summer

What on earth does buy option clause to become mandatory mean?

Napoli signing Hojlund for a €6m loan fee with a buy option clause to become mandatory for €45m. Is it mandatory or not?

Sounds like it's conditional based upon targets? Goals, league position etc.

Poor lad, missing out on his dream move to BlueCo

What a time we live in where BlueCo get mentioned ahead of the actual team he's going to be playing for.

In a way, I kinda admire how brazen Chelsea are about exploiting loopholes.

Do think people are way too OTT on Silva. Moved to a foreign country when he was 18 in middle of COVID. Had G/A every 200 mins in his first prem season and seemingly ended well when he was being a regular, then Nuno left and he was straight away discarded by new manager, before then following seasons going on multiple loans around Europe. Last season was his first full settled season and it showed in his overall data and he got his first cap.

He’ll surprise a lot of people this season at Dortmund once he gets settled giving how little people think of him :D

I don’t write the Portuguese off. Not since that bastard, Postiga, for Spurs. Pony for them, not for Portugal against England. Turned it right on then.

I love that this is the weird creep that Ornstein cited and then claimed in an interview is 'credible'
