He’s an incredible finisher at times - couple of goals this year where he just cruised off at top speed and rolled in an immaculate finish - but never kicked on in a lot of other aspects of the game. We speculated if he could make it as a central forward but I guess not with us. The feeling when Frank came in was that he might be able to help him develop à la Watkins, Mbuemo etc. He’s clearly had enough of a look at him to go “nah”, which at least means he’s probably seen what we’ve seen. Been a proper bad loan for him, but suppose long term it’s best he didn’t join permanently and be stuck on a deal there, and instead can move elsewhere in 2026.
