As much as there’s plenty of anti-Liverpool feeling around these parts at the minute, what the fuck does he expect them to do here?

’Erm, actually this lad doesn’t appear to be worth what he thought he was when we agreed to pay it, so can we just fuck it off? Cheers’

No I’m with Emery here.  They don’t want to keep him and therefore won’t trigger the 10 games.  It’s lose for everyone especially the player.

If Liverpool change the terms - at least Elliot should get more minutes - help his development and put him in the shop window.

Selfishly I hope there’s more situations like this and players stop going to these clubs so early. Didn’t Elliot come from Fulham? His career would be further along if he had stayed.

Bollocks. If Liverpool cave, every time they loan a player with an obligation, and the player doesn’t rip it up, the other club are going to twist and dry and drop the financial terms.

Villa signed up for this deal. If they’ve overestimated his ability, the fault lies with them.

Rayan with a PL goal and assist in two games…..

Was really impressed with the Brazilian teams at the club world cup, and how well they played against the European teams.

Quite surprised at the hesitancy to shop in that market.

Rayan looks right up Howe's street. Has the physical and athletic traits, but seems to have the technicality too.

But you know ... not Prem proven and all that malarkey.

Wonder if they’d take a straight swap for Elanga, Wissa and the £30m they paid back?[emoji38]

Bournemouth included a 100 million Euro release clause in his contract.

Ship has sailed.

Ask if they would take the 100 million euros plus Elanga and Wissa?

It’s not an obligation. It’s an option that Villa won’t trigger the obligation for.

The little I care about this situation is for the player and not either club.

Absolutely at this point it makes no sense for Liverpool not to change it. They have a stranded asset which is only depreciating as he's essentially rotting away.

Window is closed and villa got some bodies in so might as well stop trying to play hardball and put him in the shop window.

Although the league is full of cartel cucks so some daft cunt will pay over the odds in the summer regardless.

Loans with obligations or options should be banned anyway, they're (especially obligations) are just a PSR workaround.

And premier league teams should not be allowed to loan players from other premier league teams

A lot of things should be banned but it isn't going to happen. This set up suits the ones with the power very nicely tyvm.

Villa & Liverpool are also top 5 rivals this season let's not forget. If it weakens Villa by not having him available then it's good for Liverpool.

Yeah with this in mind I also wouldn't budge if I were Liverpool.

Good chance it's also a bluff by Emery and that he will have to play him and fullfill the obligation if he can't get it renegotiated.

Villa more than a lot of clubs have tried twisting PSR, they probably made this deal as a get around until next season. We've made mistakes this summer and will have to deal with it. They'll do the same with Elliott if they want to play him again.

Villa have already paid fines to UEFA totaling €11 million with another €15 million suspended for breaking their rules

True.  Fuck Harvey Elliott then.

This is why I generally support player power. Clubs feel no way about this type of thing.

His wages are being paid and he decided to make the move.

Villa thought they were being clever with the terms, Liverpool agreed to it. Now Villa have decided he's not as good as they hoped but they'd quite like to play him anyway. Deal with the mistake and either play him and pay up, or go a squad member down.

Yup and they've decided to go the man down. They aren't doing anything wrong mind the side effects is obviously unfortunate though.

Liverpool's desperation to get him out of the door is another factor.

Nah, Villa well within their rights not to play him and make the deal permanent. Liverpool also well within theirs to tell them to fuck off. Villa shouldn't make this type of signing if they're going to back out when it's not going their way, then moan about Liverpool not bending over for them.
