There's something about this takeover that just doesn't seem clear cut. The rumours of hitches in the process are growing and the new owners are being strangely quiet. As we're in an international break Bruce was expected to have been removed and a caretaker, most likely Jones, announced as a temporary caretaker only.

As a world class attention seeker Staveley is remarkably quiet.

Some musings from Penelope Cruz’s Kevin Costner there.

’Strangely quiet’? What? Apart from the recorded interview she gave on Thursday and the brief interview outside the ground on Friday when she met with administrative staff.

Oh and the small matter of it being the weekend.

This coming from a bloke that has been scrubbing toilets while looking after an estate owned by someone from the Middle East.

’World class attention seeker’ as well   The irony.

Mags are morally bankrupt.

Sunderland fans are lauded the world over for their classy fans and their totally organic approach to football club ownership.

They really perpetuate this myth to somehow claim some form of overall victory over Newcastle, and I don't just mean the club but also the area.

I'd imagine people all over the world would meet you with a shrug of the shoulders and blank expression when quizzed on either of our cities/clubs.

But in footballing terms, I can guarantee you now they will have more vivid memories of NUFC than SAFC.

It’s their go-to when they haven’t got a relevant point to further the discussion at hand.

’Why don’t you fuck off to a mag forum and bore them with this shit’ is another on a similar theme.

Most of them mentally work on a flow chart with about 5 steps, max.

Aye. Same if we win. ‘Shouldn’t you be on your own board talking about it instead of coming on a rivals board’, when again, it’s 2 secs to go on there too, get a laugh out of their fewm. Not that I do that by the way but I do on for the comedy value.

Becoming Human Rights experts and claiming the moral high ground is just another one of their coping mechanisms

They did it as they tumbled down the league and now they are having to do it all over again knowing we are finally rid of Ashley, that's what their hopes rested on, him staying as owner forever

Yet if we suffer a somewhat embarrassing defeat 'Where are all of the mags?'

"But MBS is the chief decision maker in the Saudi government and in PIF. The PIF board are all Saudi government officials. The papers to authorise the signing of Jesse Lingaard and bombing of Yemeni school buses sit on the same desk. The castration of gays and participation in the Rainbow laces campaign could be getting signed off at the same time. That's sportswashing. Newcastle are now a tool of a dictator; you haven't got your club back. It's gone."

Your excellency bin Salman, will it be Jesse lingaard or James Tarkowski? The fans demand an answer from you.

I know we have to accept this discussion now, it's a matter of fact. It's just the fact Sunderland fans have just found the moral compass down the back of the sofa and are putting the world to rights.

Focus on yourselves, you have enough problems without twisting yourself into Knott's about how we sleep at night.

I'm really pleased for them that this has helped drag them into a better place morally. It wasn't that long ago they were all singing "He shags who he wants" to their star nonce.  This is progress for them. So already, good has come from our takeover.

As if any one of them gave a shit about what went on in Saudi Arabia before the takeover. They wouldn't even have had a clue what was going on there.

I don't see them up in arms with their own government about supplying them with arms and that goes for the rest of the bandwagon jumpers aswell

Full stadium support for a child abuser. Beeewed the players for taking the knee so they don’t do it anymore.  Dedicated a game to Nelson Mandela and appointed a self confessed fascist as manager the following day. Racially abused a black players mother outside the ground.
Moral high ground specialists alright.

8,000 done.

Seen a few of them claiming if this had happened to them they'd have returned their season tickets now too. Including Grumpy Owld hypocrite obviously, who would never be swayed by new owners:lol:

9,000 cleared earlier this morning. Sorry I'm late, can't keep up.

How many of those 9,000very not bothered posts are since our takeover news broke?

That is since the takeover news broke iirc.

There's 16,000 on the Newcastle thread since 8th August.

A mod over there weighs in on the questioning of the volume of posts from Newcastle fans.

t's a compendium thread. It's the SMB's version of a council tip where all NUFC* related rubbish is allowed to decay naturally.

Even so, by SMB standards the NUFC* thread is not particularly big or long running.

The Interesting Photographs thread on parsnip has been running since 2014 - it has over 12,000 replies and a truly remarkable 2 million views.

By comparison the Trump thread on the politics forum is a tiddler - has only been running since 2016 with a creditable 76,000 replies but only 1million views.

Totally missing the point that this 16K has been racked up in 12 weeks or so rather than the 7 or 5 years of the other two.

Just had a look on their forum for the first time in about 18 months and oh my God this takeover has completely destroyed them [emoji38]

They are all in an absolute state of rage and the bitterness levels even by their standards has gone through the roof. You can actually feel it. Just 100% utter fewm!

I know they aren't really going to be our rivals anymore, other than by fate of Geography as we move into a completely different stratosphere to them but for the time being I finally feel I can bask in their complete misery. They are now an established 3rd division club and the nearest team to them is the richest in World football. This will finish a lot of them off. Young kids running around in Sunderland stronghold areas in their black and white strips will be hilarious
