The thing with this type of set up which frustrates you is it hands the initiative to the opposition, instead of us getting into to them sensibly.

Just do not understand playing 5 at the back at home especially after beating three top teams with playing four at the back and playing well. Rondon is going to be totally isolated up front and the ball will keep coming back time after time. Hands a massive boost to Chelsea. I’m really at a loss as to why even more so on the count when we have played this system in the past we have looked terrible.

They've started the season very well, us not so much. Rafa is probably taking that into account. People would be steaming if we inexplicably went all-out attack and got dicked.

Once again, let's not forget that Rafa WANTS the club to be more capable of going toe-to-toe with the likes of Chelsea on a regular basis (obviously not in the league standings). Ashley won't let him. As such, goal difference could be an important factor at the end of the season.

In one

If Lascelles has kicked off about that then it’s pretty poor. Just hope he learns from it.

which is why i claimed he's not injured, this tells you the story, he wanted to explain Shelvey, the captain just got brushed off.

It's about keeping the score down, while i hate it Rafa knows GD is important come next May.

He didn’t say that as a stand alone like, he said Lascelles had an ankle injury and he feels we have enough centre backs to have him sit out today, The that’s it bit at the end was because the Sky reporter had asked if it really was an injury and not something else.

Seems like the rumours are real then.

Have to wonder who leaked this information out to the media.

Aye, on sky he said a fair bit more than the quote Ryder posted.

yep definitely "injured"

That's been taken out of context. Rafa mentioned that Jamaal had a knock prior to that; the point about us having enough centre backs was so he could be rested to recovery properly.
