UK Politics - Generation Tory

Living in Cornwall, just down the road from where the G7 is going to be held this weekend is going to be absolutely hell.

I see today's hot button issue that we must get furious about is some students at Oxford changing the posters in the common room.

Oh for even two percent of the outrage at the piss poor state from those at the current education system, underfunded schools and planned rebuild for the young post pandemic.

I see the Rt Hon Minister for Free Speech wasn’t a fan on this occasion, odd that. Mustn’t have been enough Holocaust denial.

Burnham has pretty much burned his chances with the left over the Queen comments yesterday. Don't particularly blame them, and does also confirm he's got no real balls and will only stand your ground when it's clear there's a win in it for him. Either way, he's not the man anymore than Keir is. Got to stop projecting.

Aside from that, it really annoys me that no one is, even used ironically to make a point, standing up for the rights of free speech etc, especially in universities. Instead, our morons get stuck in the "will I/won't I be a monarchist today" dilemma that Labour seems to specialise in.

A see the lad Boris ironed out another high vis for the press today, love this bloke thick as custard but a cracking night out

I doubt he's used an iron in his life.

His suits are always creased and covered in dandruff ...at least I hope that's what it is!

To be fair, it's seems a pretty poor flag to fly.

It's a picture. On a wall. They know the right will be delighted at it's removal, while publicly appearing like they're appalled.

All progressives know this, so don't give the 'professionally offended' right any more ammunition.

As our US friends say 'Don't sweat the small stuff'.

"The government have recently made a point of freedom of speech and expression. On that basis it is a matter for the students to decide how they wish to decorate their communal area and it's nothing to do with us. The government's comments on this come across as quite hypocritical in that sense."

Not hard is it?

Agreed.

But it's almost like a well-laid gammon-trap.

Give people their freedom, let them exercise their rights. Then use the right-wing media and your gammon-trolls to condemn them for it.

Rinse and repeat.

What random uni students get up to is no business of the fucking national press. They should do as they want without fear of the right. This is the simple sorts of free speech stances the left used to be able to take, but we're just as much the professionally offended these days than any other political leaning.

To be fair the Queen as the Queen and head of the Monarchy is the poster boy girl (am I allowed to use that phrase in this day and age?) of white supremacy, white privilege, colonialism and elitism. The day she dies is the day they all fucking die hopefully, as a monarchy and all the bull shit around it/them. Be gone with them, they are nobodies, just entitled cunts we allow to be so because we are weak and pathetic as a society and feel we need to have some fucking Queen or King or sovereignty. Fuck them all!

It was the decision of 10 students. Was on the front page of 3 national newspapers.

They were going on about it like it was an affront to the nation. It's the equivalent of someone taking a poster of Jordan down in the staffroom because a couple of people found it offensive.

Not that I've any time for those Oxford twats either, mind. Just take the fucking thing down and dont dress it up like it's some fucking statement against imperialism or the establishment. They should be more fucking concerned with the amount of money their university gives to Israeli arms companies.

And totally ignoring that the lack of attention to detail in order to get a quick brexit that has fucked Northern Ireland is also playing out in fishing as well as other industries.

I mean, it was clear that Brexiteers didn’t care at all about Ireland.

The land border in Ireland alone should have meant that Brexit was impossible.

Remember Johnson said we'd have a hard border and a soft border depending on who he was talking to and trying to win over.

Inflation on the rise, joblessness going up, Northern Ireland about to explode...are the 70s back?
