Bruce Pardew Big Sam All managed us as well No English manager has ever won the premier league. The two closest English managers were Ron Atkinson when the premier began in 1992. Runner up. And our very own king Kev runner up on two occasions. The early premier league years were full of many managers from the UK but that soon changed and we are where we are today because foreign players are perhaps managed better by foreign coaches.
