Guest Cheesy Beans

Following on from the previous, ‘best number 9’ thread. I thought this would be mildly amusing whilst we have nothing else to do or enjoy.

Below is a list of the strikers signed under Mike Ashley’s fantastic tenureship. Players coming through the academy (Carroll, Shola etc) or those signed as youth players (Toney, Ranger, Zamblera, Edmundsson) aren’t included.

Facundo Ferreya

Shefki Kuqi

Luuk de Jong

Seydou Doumbia

Islam Slimani

Emmanuel Rivière

Yoshinori Muto

Marlon Harewood

Xisco

Joelinton

Yoan Gouffran

Joselu

Leon Best

Daryl Murphy

Aleksandar Mitrović

Peter Løvenkrands

Loïc Rémy

Dwight Gayle

Salomon Rondon

Ayoze Pérez

Papiss Cissé

Demba Ba

Please make three nominations for the below categories:

1. Best overall striker

(whole career i.e, Luuk De Jong may have been shit for us, but has had a decent career since leaving)

2. Best NUFC striker

3. Best value

4. Worst overall striker (whole career)

5. Worst NUFC striker

6. Worst value

I’ll then tot up the nominations at some point in the future and we can crown our champions. You can only nominate one striker for each award.

Discussions welcome.

Mine:

1. Best overall striker - Demba Ba

2. Best NUFC striker - Papiss Cisse

3. Best value - Ayoze Perez

4. Worst overall striker (whole career) - Xisco

5. Worst NUFC striker - Emmanuel Rivière

6. Worst value - Joelinton

You might find there is tougher competition for the worst spaces

I like Rondon and Ayoze much more than Ba. Guess it’s because he was signed during the ‘do well and we’ll sell you to someone better’ mercenary era.

Calling a footballer a mercenary for wanting to play at a higher level is such nonsense

He can and should do what he wants, I’m just saying I could never get attached to him.

And it wasn’t as simple as wanting to play at a a higher level, people literally signed for us because we promised to sell them on. Depressing strategy.

Can you just pick your six players and stop your pontificating please?
