Had a quick read of a Watford forum. They are delighted and apparently we hate all players who leave us because that's what we're like.

Read that too[emoji38]

So disappointed with how bad he was, in pretty much every sense. Considering Liverpool wanted him before us as well, should have been a dead cert but he was actually worse than Dummett. Obviously he got Bruced along the way so hopefully he can put all of that behind him and rebuild his career.

Crazy to think that only 18 months ago in January 2022 that late Pedro equaliser at SJP kept us 2 points behind Watford in the relegation zone, having played a game more and a much inferior goal difference. The clubs currently feel a millions miles apart.

Honestly thought we were down after that game. Had all the hallmarks of a relegation season. Then kept looking at the other results and we never got cut adrift.

We didn’t have a (decent) scouting setup at that time. We were «Dennis Wise»-ing all over the place.
I think Lewis can do OK at Watford. He hasn’t played much in two years, and as you said he’s been «Bruced».
Come to think about it, there’s more chance of being «Bruced» when You’re not at NUFC;) (Bruce to Watford this season, heard it here first[emoji38])

Not sure I can even blame Bruce for this one - the lad was highly rated.  He just hasn’t developed at all.

Same. Was adamant he just needed some decent coaching and he'd be a canny player. Those first couple games under Howe in December 2021 he was playing well and had that LB spot as his own before he got injured at Anfield. Was abysmal in that FA Cup loss to Sheff Wed and hasn't appeared since.

He's 26 now, ship has sailed.

Yep, sadly you’re right for me.  Howe’s looked at said ‘pass’.  It’s not like there weren’t other players who’d been ‘Bruced’ who were salvaged by Howe’s coaching.  The lad just isn’t good enough, unfortunately

For a lad who was rumoured to have had Liverpool interested at one point before we signed him, he's not exactly had the development arc you'd expect.

Can't get them all right.

1 more I think.

Ripe for an extension to ensure we maximise any transfer fee. Just 3 years should do it I'd think.
