I wonder what his career would have been like without injury issues?  He was a cracking striker.  I reckon 20 goals a season if he had normal injury levels.  At 25 say scoring how he can without injury must be a 100M player.  Remember Isak struggled to get in the team initially and even played out left because Wilson was playing well.

Wilson was a great goal scorer for a period, real quality finisher, as good as anyone I've seen play for us.

Think it says it all about his quality that without the injuries we'd never have had a sniff of signing him when we did at his age and the club's state. He's up there as far as raw goalscorers go.

Wilson with pace was brilliant and worked very hard to come up to prem level - played very well for us at times - mentality monster - set up a goal for England in the World Cup , really nice guy. Felt a bit sorry for him last season as was fed scraps and nearly scored a great goal in an away performance - I think Brighton .

It feels almost meaningless to say that he was by far our best No. 9 since Shearer given how depressingly low that bar is. But he is, of course.

It’s the lack of red shirt, but yeah, he’s been great at West Ham and would have loved him here.
