Man City not buying a striker was a decision that’ll cost them the league imo.

Not buying Kane, they should’ve picked up someone else. Even taking a punt on someone would’ve been better than trying to play a season without one.

Bit of an odd comment after they've just scored twice at Anfield. They did win the title without a striker last time out.

They're now two points off top having already been to Spurs, Leicester, Chelsea and Liverpool. Ominous stuff.

It’s not an odd comment at all, with a proper striker they would have won yesterday.

It may seem like a point earned because they came from behind but they should have been out of sight by halftime.

Same as the CL game with PSG and the PL game with Southampton, they’d have won both of those with a decent striker.

Over the course of a season they’ll have more and more games like those three, which will ultimately cost them.

I didn't watch the Southampton or the PSG game, but they put up 86 points without a striker last time out. They've also had 100 and 99 points seasons missing Aguero for half a season. I think they'll be fine, it's familiar territory for them. That's not to say a striker couldn't take them to an even higher level though.

Not quite sure if I share that opinion after watching them play closely this weekend. City have become a goal chance creating machine. A big part of this is that they are playing 5 technically proficient midfielders and a roaming striker like Jesus which means they are able to overload the opposition defense. Their floating midfielders are also very difficult to mark out of games when they are in full flow.

Yesterday, Milner was in trouble against Foden. Normally we would move Matip or Henderson to back up Milner and help him out. But we couldn't because then that would take the attention away from Grealish and De Bruyne who could do the damage. If they had a traditional striker like Aguero, I don't think they could have created that setup or they wouldn't be able to create so many chances.

Anyways, City were very impressive yesterday. Gave us a footballing lesson at times particularly in the first half.

I think last season they benefited from Liverpool having the season they had, Chelsea struggling with Lampard and Ole being Ole

So no serious competition from Feb onwards meant they coasted without any real pressure

I do think lack of striker will ultimately hurt them come the end of the season

This Gavi kid looks incredible. Would have been fun to watch Messi playing with all these kids for a few years, shame

To think Barca have a midfield of Pedri, Gavi, De Jong and Busquets (with Nico Gonzalez, Coutinho and Puig sat in reserve) and still look utter shite

Yeah, which makes Koeman's management more criminal. But we are too broke to fire him.

Still, there's reason for hope in the future. We do have a nice crop of talented young players.
