I think he'll end up back with us, after 4 or 5 years at Citeh or wherever he ends up. I'd hate to see him playing for Man U.

Whoever did the Anderson deal really fucked up by not putting in a buy back clause. We'd be in a great position if they had.

We were in a vice grip of PSR, no chance that get's done with a clause.

With 5 subs and attacking the cups there’s plenty of games, we play with three midfielders so six is the optimum. Joelinton will always miss games, Ramsey too and Bruno has picked up the worst injury of his Newcastle career.

Won’t argue about price being a potential blocker but not squad numbers or I’d hope to never read posts criticising Eddie for lack of rotation.

We only played 48 games last season even with a League Cup finals run and two wins in the FA Cup. We'll play close to 60 this season even if we're eliminated in both remaining cups right away.

It's a huge difference, and it doesn't make sense to spend a hundred million on someone who may only start 20 games when we face severe financial restrictions and there are so many other areas of the squad that must be addressed.

We were selling from a position of weakness so putting in a buy back clause would have been very difficult

Sad as it is, he's simply valued too highly. Competent DM/8 hybrid and English tax. It's always a non-starter. If he goes City I'll be miffed, mainly cause those cheating cunts are hoovering up talent atm (Trafford, Cherki, Reijnders, Semenyo, Khusanov, etc).

We did them a favour by taking a keeper at a crazy price. We could've got a clause in there.

I don’t think we willingly did that…

Yes, the deal was weighted in their favour. I think we could've got a clause for say £60M, he wasn't a star at the time.

Given the situation we were in, we were in absolutely no position to ask for anything other than the amount that would get us out the shit.

If you’re Forest, why would you even contemplate giving us anything other than the bare minimum we required?

There was absolutely no chance of any kind of clause.

I never argued re price, in fact even agreed that price was a blocker. I simply disagree with your assertion that 5 first team midfielders is enough.

Too mix with the best you need quality replacing quality and midfield is arguably the most important part of the team.

I read a lot of criticism on this forum of Eddie Howe not rotating enough, that cannot and will not happen until we have squad strong enough to do so.

I’d also like to think we a building a squad with the aim of regularly competing in Europe and not solely for next season

I just think that in a year with no Europe five is obviously enough, and honestly Willock is overqualified as a #6 too.

‘Obviously’ it’s not obvious to me…

If 5 is enough who would play tomorrow?

Willock is pretty much a certainty to leave and even if Tonali decides to stay we should probably be listening to offers for Joelinton.

A first team CM should be a priority. Granted I think Edward will want to keep Big Joe.

Aye, especially with other experienced squad members like Trippier and potentially Schar leaving.

I think Big Joe is probably too injury prone for anyone to offer us anything that would be worth considering. Which is good news for us seeing as he's fucking mint and one of the great pin-ups for this whole era. Sees out his contract imo.

Wew, that was a ride. I apologize for all the shit I almost said, Yorks.

We really are blinkered to Anderson. He was barely more than competent for us, but has done fairly well in a team that has made him a central figure. Only hope one of the 6 go and waste 6 figures on him rather than a real midfielder
