People overstate how bad our side is. We're short on quality in centre mid and full back and obviously lack depth, but it really isn't that bad.

Agreed, square pegs in square holes, some critical thinking & organisation & were absolutely fine regarding staying in league, which in turn gives us a base to build on, Rome & 24 hours & all that shiite

All I've heard is how bad a side we are on the radio and from pundits. It's a better squad than the one Rafa had and it's finished comfortably mid table last year even under Bruce, despite large spells being shit and worrying.

It's a very bad start, but with better management and coaching this squad can finish mid table fine without the drama of last season flirting down the bottom during winter. With a great coach and a few key signings I'm January, in particular two proper centre midfielders, we can at least get up to 50% possession based football and start have a more consistent set of performances.

It's all in the coaching. The players are unfit, the defence is a shambles and we're afraid of the ball. These things have only become prevalent under Bruce.

Admitting that though, would imply Bruce was at fault, which opposes the media narrative that he's a good manager. That's why pundits like to pretend he was performing some kind of miracle keeping us up.

Should not be finishing in the bottom three. There's far more quality there than in sides such as Norwich, Watford, Burnley, and Southampton.

Has to be this.

Agreed and it's all become more accumulative over time. If you spend two years playing 30% possession defensively and barely registering shots at goal across every 90 mins, then it becomes engrained in these players to not be expected to play with possession and control games, or even manage games we are ahead in. This will take time to undo, but we have the quality in the squad to do much better for sure.

1) We've got no depth. 2) Injuries to Wilson, ASM, Dubravka, and we've got nothing. 3) It is obvious to everyone except management who should be starting.

He's certainly not the long term answer, but I'm already much happier now with him in as a caretaker.

It's good to hear someone give actual reasons for their team selection even though I didn't agree with the line up, particularly in defence.

You'd hope the new permanent manager brings in their own coaching team, but hopefully Jones can help bridge the gap as he does at least know the players and can point out where we need strengthening from day 1.

Although, if he starts Shelvey next week after his ban, I'll take it all back and want him fired into the moon.

The back three, front three, but the middle is really poor. Needs steel and creativity.

Like Tiote and Cabaye, Batty/Beardsley.
