Ha ha is this bellend for real?! How did the press find out about Dubravka coming back in ffs!

So we've worked all week on defending better as a unit, just not necessarily with the goalkeeper he plans to select as part of it?

That bit in bold... I'm reading that two ways.

1) bruce is basically saying to Cashley "I haven't got the results, please hurry up and sack me".  In no way am I saying he's in any manner "manning up".  Just wants his pay off

2) or is he trying to play the victim again and imply that when a team doesn't get results it's 'unfairly' lumped on the Head Coach's shoulders.  i.e. that 20 seconds against Southampton and not holding a lead against West Ham, well that's that all in the stars isn't it?   Nothing that the person in charge of players and tactics can do about that surely?

Fucking prick!!

You'd think he'd have the team picked already so we could maybe work on it in training?

I find it hilarious how he continuosly talks himself into riddles, contradictions or just sheer guilt.

Remember when the daft cunt talked pre-season about Jones taking the attackers and him and the Steve's taking the defensive players?

He literally gets nothing right.

The defence vs attack stuff is hilarious when you break it down.

We're scoring about a goal a game, but shipping loads. His thoughts are that there's a balance to find, but if we score less than our current one a game to hopefully stop conceding at a rate of three a game we still aren't winning those games, because we won't have scored.

Quotes ín full from .com - he's walked away from about six clubs - lying wanker!

Steve Bruce spoke to the media via Zoom on Thursday:

On the "Brucie out" chants:

"Look, it's always difficult. I would be sick if I said I quite enjoyed it. It's difficult.

"The frustration is, like any other Premier League club or any other Football League club, if you don't get results then ultimately the manager, head coach, whatever I am, bears the brunt.

"That's what it is. so I have to accept that results haven't been good enough.

"What the disappointment was we played very well at a difficult place last week - as difficult as it was going to get. We played very well and didn't get anything out of the game, which was the frustration.

"It’s not all about me. I’m here to only do what I think is best for the club – and that is manage it as best I can and keep us moving along.

"It’s for other people to answer that (questions about his future). I will continue to do my best. I’m never going to walk away from the challenge of it, that’s for sure. You’re asking the wrong person.”

Asked whether he would consider his position if the abuse he received became detrimental to the team:

"Well then you start looking at yourself, of course but knowing the way I am, it’s not in my nature to walk away from something when we’re in a fight. ‘Oh it’s too difficult so I’m going to walk away’, that doesn’t really register with me.”

On the last point, nothing really registers with him, that's the problem.

Well, except for kebab shop closing times.

He'll be an encyclopedia there - Mastermind specialist subject.

However, asked about his situation as he prepared his team for Friday night's league clash with Leeds, a defiant Bruce said: 'My family think I'm a bit sick because I never really think about those things when you're up against it.

Look, it's a challenge at the minute. I've said now since I walked through the door two years ago, I'm not going to be everybody's cup of tea, but I will, with my experience, hope that I can keep the club just ticking along and make sure that the club stays where it is and we maintain our Premier League status.“
