I've said this before like but it bears repeating - plenty of teams get by without pacey CB's, that's why they're so expensive. You mitigate their lack of pace through coaching & tactics, and selecting the right players. Playing Shelvey in front of that defence should be grounds for the sack if you ask me. But this is Bruce in a nutshell, he's so insecure he's not only playing the opposition he's playing against the fans perception of him which he knows is absolute shite. If he had to play that defence he should have played a very defensive team and looked to carefully counter, instead he's just let them go out and get cut up then talks about how good the attacking play was.
