If you refresh the page, as soon as it starts to load the circle with arrow changes to an x, quickly press it and it works.

 

Genuinely impressed with that tip, that is a proper life hack 👍

Actually, I'd say it's a hack. As in, you're circumventing protection to gain unauthorised access to something you should not have access to otherwise. A simple hack, mind, but very effective :thup:

Very subdued reaction in the media about this, wasn't much a story in the Times beyond reporting it had happened, and didn't see much on Sky Sports News either. Seems like the rest of the country is proper pissed off tbh.

Also if you use Firefox, a lot of paywalls can be circumvented by just pressing the "reader view" button. It removes media like images so not as good as the previous method but sometimes works where that doesn't

 

If you're really desperate, you can also try right-clicking > view source

A nerdvert who I met on a work conference once told me a hack for how to get pay per view porn channels for free on a hotel telly. This was before smart phones and wi-fi so getting your hands on smut at short notice was tricky and it was risky adding hotel grot films to the bill as it needed to be submitted to company expenses.

 

Potentially the best life hack I've ever had.

Tell your friend that they should put the telly on the channel immediately before the one that shows smut. Then remove aerial from back of telly. Flick up to smut channel, then down to pre-smut channel 5 times and then leave on smut channel, then re-insert aerial and smut will appear for free.

 

It worked in loads of hotels but it's from 20 years ago so tech might have changed since then.

I'll pass it on.... I try to avoid that kind of thing in hotels myself now from the time I was in Hong Kong and the missus went in the shower. Thought I would make the most of the free time by having a sneaky blast through the filth channels....unbeknown to me at the time, the shower had a speaker in it, linked through from the TV.
