Seems to me the big 6 are trying to force PIF out.  The whole purpose of buying NUFC was to make a profit as they are an investment group.  If we are prohibited from making eye watering sponsorship deals we will never be worth more than what they paid for us and PIF might decide to cut their losses and sell their share in us!

They couldn't give two fucks about financial profit from these ventures. They're investing in public image.

63 of the last 72 top 6 finishes since Man City emerged on the scene have been taken by those 6 clubs. That’s a helluva domination tbh.

It will not change immediately, but the most delightful  thing about our takeover is that WE will change that around completely, in due course.

YES, the sheer certainty of that happening (and it being US that do it) is the best thing about it !!!!

HAPPY DAYS . . .

The delightful thing about our takeover is that we will soon be one of the cunts. Triffic.

Id rather be a rich cunt though and competing than what we’ve suffered for the last 14 years. If you can’t beat them…………

Which, unfortunately, is even more of a reason that they could move on to another club if we are relegated.

It’s been talked about to death. They won’t sell just because we’re relegated.

I've never really understood the desire to be 'rich'. What does it mean? I can get the desire to earn a million, that's an ambition, an attainable target. but being ambiguously 'rich' seems like an empty life.

Only if someone else wants to buy.

You can't sell if there's no-one willing to take something off your hands.

It hasn't really been talked about at all, everyone just seems to be sticking their head in the sand about it.

If we go down PIF are left with a club that, even if we did get straight back up, would have lost all of the FFP advantage we currently have and have very limited ability to spend.

If we get relegated and Man U, or Chelsea or even Leeds are available, if you don't think they would consider jumping ship you are being very naive.

It's not about being rich though, it's about being on a level playing field. For that you need to be rich these days. Otherwise you end up fighting to avoid relegation like us currently.

Other than 'in your head' I suppose, because you must want us to be cunts.

"Cunts" are people who are a certain type, and behave in a certain way. I do not ever see Staveley/Reubens/PIF ever wanting to be be "Cunts" . . . it isn't automatic you know.

Our club will not, can not, be "cunts", but we will PUNCTURE the egos of a lot of "cunts".

It’s not naive when you consider all those clubs would cost several times more than us. And that would be after they magic a buyer for us. Wouldn’t they have bought them to start with if they wanted them? Especially given our league position which hasn’t altered since the sale? Or perhaps those clubs are maybe not for sale after all?

Not to mention the pride being lost, and losing business face at running immediately out of a business deal when things have gone wrong for one year- it’s simply not the way they would do it, imo.

I’ve seen pages on here being talked about exactly this topic?

It's pennies to them, they could give away their share for nothing without losing sleep over it.

Pennies it might be, but £300m pounds is still £300m pounds and is a lot to throw away even if you can afford it.

Giving us away would probably see someone on a gallows in Riyadh for incompetent investment.

Not happening

Our owner for the past 14 years was rich, our current situation is not directly related to finances. Ashley used the club for his own purposes, PIF intend to do the same, but they're prepared to gloss over it with a trophy or two.

Spending 2 odd years trying to buy us to sell us in half a year [emoji38]

That's a different situation, the O&D test issue would have prevented them from buying any PL club (although we all know it wouldn't had they being buying one of the right ones from the start).

That's not an issue now.

Probably one of the main things that attracted them to us was our current advantageous FFP position. If we are relegated that is whiped out and it adds at least 2 years to the project, realistically more like 3-5.

It's very naive to think that they wouldn't consider looking elsewhere.

I can't see the PIF walking away from Newcastle any time soon. Say ManU was available, they sell NUFC for 350/450 and then buy MU for what? Several Billion? Makes zero financial sense if you're investing. MU value will go up, but slightly, whereas NUFC, 300 invested, put more into infrastructure, players, etc... within a decade the club will be worth 6 to 7 times what they initially paid. Investments are usually a slow and steady build. The return on building NUFC into a mega club is worth much more as a long term investment in my opinion.

You nor anyone else has any clue what their position is when it comes to relegation, absolute zero.

Do you honestly believe in 5-10 years time, when we're bringing in the most investment and global interest, we won't be sitting at the top table telling the PL which way to bend?

They bought the club knowing how the table looked. They also spent time sitting on their hands figuring out a few things, didn't get rid of Bruce right away, still no DoF... I don't think they care about the short term, it's the long term that they've invested in.
