The end is nigh, thank fuck. Not bothered how much they throw at the club, I just want them to want Newcastle to be as big and successful as it possibly can be. It's never ever been about the exact amount invested but the fact the new owner's ambitions are about to match the ambitions of the fans and that's all I've wanted for over a decade. Think big, be big. Feels like I'm about to get my club back again :aww:

Yep, for me I'm not thinking about big money signings, or any of that. All I care about is getting my club back, finally getting my sport back.

Still expecting the disappointment to follow, as this is Newcastle after all and we can't have nice things. But jesus, if this goes through and Mike Ashley is finally booted out of our club, and Bruce follows, that to me is as good as winning the Champions League.

Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/oct/06/newcastle-takeover-gets-boost-as-saudi-arabia-lifts-ban-on-bein-sports

A Saudi Arabia-led consortium is close to finally taking over Newcastle United and ending Mike Ashley’s 14-year-old ownership of the club, with a deal expected to be approved imminently.

Some sources have suggested the deal could even be completed within the next 24 hours – although others are more cautious – with Amanda Staveley, the British businesswoman, likely to be the face of the takeover on an interim basis before being moved aside.

The development follows the news that Saudi Arabia has lifted its four-year ban on beIN Sports to allow Premier League, Uefa and Fifa matches to be broadcast legally in the country again and promised to tackle piracy.

However the Guardian understands that the resolution of the piracy issue has not been a key factor in putting the deal, which was first mooted in March 2020, back on the table. Rather it has been about the Saudi backed public investment fund providing assurances that the Saudi state would not be involved in running Newcastle.

What the prick doesn't understand it that we don't care if we buy the league or compete within certain means, we're rid of Ashley and our potential can be reached with or without mega bucks. No more self sabotage.

Exactly

This screams corruption from the Premier League and that they have things to hide, they were happy to go to an arbitration which would be held in private ... I think they panicked when they realised the CAT case would likely be given the go ahead to be heard and would in turn reveal lots of information the premier League want kept hidden and therefore they've came to an agreement with all parties to save face

Your game’s a bloated mess these days, mate. Get fucked, micromanaging nonce.

Ah shit, so we'd only go from a slow death of a club spending less then nowt to one that is forced to limit itself to financial fair play levels of spending?.. We'll that's me right back down to earth 😂
