With the CAT case likely to rumble on for the rest of the year, within a fortnight we'll at least have some closure with the arbitration.

If the arbitration doesn't go our way, I won't be actively supporting Newcastle United. I won't watch, read about, listen or talk about Newcastle United. I won't even keep up the CAT case. I'm sure I will hear about it we're taken over.

So within a fortnight, I can either support my club again or give it up indefinitely. It's black and white, and a mental relief either way.

Same here, and it really won't be that difficult either as I had more or less done the same 15 months ago after Rafa had walked. I got dragged back in last April when the takeover took off but I know I can go back to where I was before that.

Walking away from going to matches, and watching games of other teams is actually pretty easy to do. The hardest thing to give up is the social media side of it as I enjoy the banter and craic. But still, I had managed to do that too, and was visiting forums only once every week at the most.

The last 12 months will finish me off for good if it doesn't go our way. And, as you say, the CAT won't bring PIF back and that's the crucial thing for me. I'm not interested in NUFC under any other owners, and it's not just down to how wealthy they are. Its more about how we will have lost their planned development of the club & investment in the region down to corruption within the organisation who run the game. My conscience will not let me continue to be a part of that.

I've got loads of hobbies and interests outside of football so it really isn't that important any more. I've become addicted to the takeover saga more with respect to clinging to the idea that I live in a fair country where justice prevails, rather than just being able to support a club that can compete at the top again.

This is where I'm at too.

If it doesn't go our way, I cannot continue supporting the club due to the fact we have been totally robbed of a massive opportunity for the club and the area because of corruption. There would be no point at all in football to me anymore if you're blocked from competing. This is NUFC so this is exactly what I think will happen too.

PIF as owners or no one? Mental.

If we didn't know what we know, I don't think people would have the same view, they would take anyone but Ashley.

I think because we've had this Rosey image painted for us of total investment in club and area it could feel a bitter pill settling for anyone else.

I still want Ashley gone, but our only opportunity at obscene wealth was this bid. If this doesn't work out then we will have to push for anyone else.

If PIF somehow become Involved with another PL club down the line I will be pissed mind [emoji38]

Edit: I think in another world where Fatboy hadn't absolutely tore the arsehole out of the club, any billionaire would do.

But we know the very state of this club top to bottom and they're going to need pretty deep pockets or a fair chunk of time repairing us.

Yeah - Ive said before in here, as have others, that if it fails then I'll have to look at where I want to invest my time, my money and my sanity.

Can't be arsed with worrying about a relegation battle as soon as the season starts, for what is it now, 9 or 10 seasons in a row?

I was thinking this last night actually, at least we are gonna know one way or the other in a couple of weeks.

Unless there's another fucking delay.

There's always another delay!

Further to that - I realise that there are many, many clubs whose existence is a series of relagation battles and that in one sense, Im lucky to support a PL club with players like ASM in the squad.

I just want a bit of hope mixed in with the misery. A cup run, a gem of a player from the academy coming though, a club identity, the belief that everyone behind the scenes is trying their hardest etc etc

Surely thats not being greedy?

It doesn't get mentioned much on here but surely in an ideal world nobody wants the fucking Saudi's owning our club?

I couldn't give two fucks, football sold its soul a long time ago, if you can't beat them then join them, it won't last forever.

In an ideal world, no. But in that same ideal world Man City and Chelsea should be sold too, as well as any clubs with American owners who don't have the club's best interests as their priority.

True, but also in an ideal world Saudi Arabia isn’t a country that has more than questionable human rights issues.

This is Newcastle.

This is my thoughts too.

Nothing good happens to us.

This is Newcastle.

If we do win then Gary Hoffman's dog will eat the resubmitted paperwork.  Can't help but think that there will be some sort of further stalling process.

Exactly! Get the saudis in. They invest in just about every other big company in the world and no cunt bats an eyelid. Are they the richest owners out there? Yes! Right, that's who I want! Nobody else but them.
