Has a calf injury ever ended someone’s career? Hope this is the first case ever recorded if not.

We're fucked if it restricts his ability to dictate play from the toes of the centre-halves. What if it takes away his exquisite range of passing? I don't think I could cope. Sending thoughts and prayers to Jonjo.

A competent manager would look at this fixture and realize that Villa's confidence will have been shaken a bit by losing last week and come up with an attacking strategy and have a good go at them. Bruce hasn't the brains or the bollocks, we'll sit back, counter occasionally and get pasted 3-0.

I'd expect us to counter-attack a bit until we run out of steam around 5 minutes.

Dr Nick doing ops with a knife and fork.

As much as I'd like to blame the club for this, ( and they probably are to blame due to weak or no follow up on the injury), infections can occur even with the best care in the world

He might quit if the match goers turn on him, no doubt to a chorus of "hounding him out". Either way, until Ashley goes who fricken cares anymore?

A battering, Villa fans taking the piss and the away fans doing their job and giving him pelters might have an impact.

Our crowd? Would take a pretty disastrous run of results to get those zombies mumbling, never mind protest.

4-5 defeats would kick it off but I get your point

We normally have a tough start to the season so if we don't have points on the board early you can put it down to that. This time round with West Ham and Villa, it could be looking pretty grim by the time we are 5 or 6 matches in if we don't get anything on Saturday. Which we probably won't.

Rumours on twitter Callum Wilson is struggling

He's a crock that lad. Or our 1980s facilities just can't cope with modern day soft tissue issues, Charners needs to hose the green wheely bin out and stick him in there for a few hours.

"The club website explained that Bruce has no 'fresh injury concerns' ahead of the weekend, but there was one noticeable absentee from the gallery.

Wilson did not feature in any of the latest training pictures, and the head coach explained the decision to substitute the number nine against West Ham was due to a fear of 'fatigue'.

The 29-year-old has struggled with hamstring injuries since February, and Bruce is evidently wary of risking another setback for his leading goalscorer.

There is no indication at this point that Wilson is unavailable for the weekend, but his suggested absence from the training session will likely raise questions over his availability."

Aye, don’t want the slug having ready made excuses on why we got hammered.

You know. We had important players out, which really hit us hard, so between that and Villa being in a different league, we did well to keep it down to 5. Slobber.

Hamstring injury Callum? Sit out of training so you don't completely fuck it before Saturday, then pull your socks up, roll your sleeves up, get stuck in on Saturday afternoon and be out for 3 month afterwards.

Don’t worry though, we have Joelinton to replace him. Hopefully we can keep hold of him before that transfer window slams shut! You know with his top 6 ambitions it’s going to be tough.
