Needs to change starting lineup from time to time.

Needs a few new attacking players to actually give him real options. All well and good bringing on ASM and Isak, but that's literally it and even ASM doesn't really score goals.

Would have loved to see that 4-4-2 again tonight. But Wilson was having a fairly shit game, so can understand why we didn't go for that. Think Eddie is very limited by his options, but I'd hope to see a different line up Tuesday (ASM and Isak starting with Bruno feeding them).

Absolutely nothing wrong with the line-up, formation or subs tonight. Went down there and dominated possession, created a handful of chances and the keeper only had 1 save to make all night. The manager couldn't have done anymore but it just didn't go in, the headers we had were a bit weak and Palace hung on and made it difficult, I get the frustration but games like tonight are going to happen and they shouldn't be used as a stick to beat Howe with, that's outrageous tbph

And we're 3rd, 3 points behind Man City after 20 games [emoji38]

“Difficult game but we played well,” 45-year-old said. “We got into dangerous positions and created chances. We had moments in both halves; if there was a team that was going to win it, I thought it would be us, but we had to credit Nick Pope for a great save. He didn’t have a lot to do today. He’s been great since he came in and we see that in training every day.

“The changing room is disappointed we didn’t win. We wanted more control in the second half; there were moments the ball flashed across the box and nobody was on the end of it. There are things to improve for us, but we are seeing continued improvement. We are not firing as much as we’d like, but we are working on that.”

It’s too predictable.

Multiple rival managers have foreseen and mitigated the inevitable Maxi substitution.

we’ve scored 1 goal in 4 games.

We’ve not scored a goal with that line-up/formation since Boxing Day.

Waited too long.

Top teams don’t wait until the last 20 minutes to go for it.  Even then today he didn’t play both our strikers.

We have nobody that operates in that 10 space.  That Odegaard role.

And we lack quality from wide which we rely on.

It’s a fine balance. This XI hasn’t conceded many and has kept clean sheets in all of those games. Because everyone is hard working and capable runners. But it lacks finesse and it shows.

Willock off instead of Longstaff was a headscratcher at time and now, but we can't expect flawlessness.

Hoping Eddie gives Dour Egberts a holler before Tuesday for some tactical tips. We need things freshened up.

If it was that predictable, someone would have beaten us in the last 15 games like.

And we could easily have been unbeaten all season. We've played a few games since the World Cup, and the atmosphere on here is already resembling early October again

Howe could shake the lineup a bit but ultimately we are still overachieving for where we are with our squad.

If Isak is fit though I'd be starting him over Wilson who has looked a little lost recently.

We could have won 3-0 tonight if Wilson, Isak and Maxi buried their chances.

That's the fine margins in this league. Not really much more Eddie could have done imo. We dominated possession away from home, pushed them high and kept their creative players very quiet.

Just wasn't our day in front of goal. Still solid at the back though.

You missed Joelintons 2 chances in the first half which should have been put away.
