I like Tifo and watch it a lot, but a lot of the time it's more like they're talking about Football Manager than real life.

Yes. But that's what transfer rumors are mostly about -- not real life.

Hopefully, we'll target someone who can take set pieces. Can't have Ritchie taking corners. (Can't have Ritchie in the starting 11 IMO) He's a good squad player and has served the club well during a difficult period. But we've got to sign a proper left back and a nailed starter who can take corners. Have no idea who that might be. Maybe Neves?

Tagliafico?

I edited my post and added Neves. I really don't know  Tagliafico. Time for some Football Manager scouting on YouTube. (All this delusion and dreaming about possibilites ... forgot what it's like.  Going to make watching other games more enjoyable. Newcastle United could actually sign some of those young talents)

This atalanta striker zapata is very decent

I’ve not seen a forward work as hard as he has in some time, and with quality too.

Saw we were linked with Dolberg the other day. One of my favourite young strikers that is seemingly under the radar as he doesn't get mentioned a lot. Hope we get him before someone else does. He is class.

Agreed. He is exactly the type of player I'd like to see us go for.

Coutinho is exactly the type of player I'd like to see us avoid. He's just too specialist for our needs at the moment and I could see his arrival really compounding the chronic lack of balance we have, as we'd cycle through endless systems trying to get the best out of our marquee signing. Then he'd get injured.

Cannot believe anyone would turn there nose up at Coutinho. Barcelona have to sell players well below market value and he's clearly still a brilliant player.

Would rather put the wages and fee towards Kessie etc

Yeah, we are strapped for cash to be fair. It’ll likely be one of the other.

One or the other plus whatever positions we need, yes. With FFP I’d rather not be splashing the cash on injury prone, inconsistent players when that’s the last thing we need.

Coutinho is not the player you want for a relegation battle.

What kind of player do you need for a relegation battle? I’d say an immensely  talented creative goalscoring midfielder with PL experience isn’t a bad place to start.

Howe (if it is Howe) is not going to park the bus. He’s going to try and play technical attacking football, which means we need technical attacking footballers.

Its shocking how bad he actually is - a player bereft with any sort of belief

He isn’t what we need right now
