Both Mings and Tarkowski are comfortably better than Lascelles.

The problem I have with both is this;

Mings is a bit of a mess positionally and just tries to out battle his opponent. He's constantly made tot look good because he bails himself out of his own mistakes.

Tarkowski is more reliable perhaps, but he's also playing in a Burnley side that makes defenders look better. It's why Michael Keane has never been the same player. Most decent defenders can head and kick anything 5 yards in front of their penalty box. Howe doesn't want that, he wants us closer to half way.

At a push that makes Mings more possible, but they paid an obscene sum for him and will want that plus more.

Agreed. Premier League players vs Championship player - Rafa's exceptional coaching made him look a better player than he is.

No they don't. Overnight? Howeh, it's been 2 and a half months.

If they're the right company to bring in, have experience with other clubs, or specialise in sport/football, absolutely fair enough though. I think I'm just programmed to read consultant and shudder because in my own experience they've always been unbelievably inenpt The Apprentice wankers.

 Still, even at 2.5 months, CEO's don't appear out of the woodwork, mate. Chelsea's CEO, Guy Lawrence, used to run the biggest Telco here in Canaduh.

I'm currently employed by EY, so maybe I have the other bias of seeing the value in my work as a consultant.

Stoke fans rate Campbell highly on their forum saying they wouldn’t even consider selling him for less than thirty.

they also have a random “Pardew is a nob” thread , so I’m going to assume they’re quite knowledgable.

It’s Pardew we’ve all been hurt and traumatised by those days. The endless set penisis to Mike WIlliamson, the endless hoofs out from the back when we didn’t have a target man, the excuses, his smug ego, the way he treated Ben Arfa, the way it felt like it just wouldn’t end.

Think we could all chip in and get our combined ptsd diagnosis and treatment. Might save on the bill.

but yeah ofcourse Pardew buying gloves annoys you. Like why would you want his hands to be warm? Bet they were driving gloves too seems like the type of smug shit he would do.

 Him in his fucking glasses looking at his hands in the mirror, flexing his fingers and smiling that fish lip smile. Mental how the idea of it makes me feel.

 Also I have no idea why the idea of him buying gloves wound me up so much. Something to discuss in therapy.

I really don’t think that central defensive positions are our number one priority. Obviously we need more quality there, but there are more pressing areas that we should be focusing on especially when you think Tarkowski will cost us quite a large sum without really improving the first 11 drastically. Spend the money on other areas of the pitch first and see how we go

I think we really need a left footer to cover that side and allow Lewis to breathe. Somebody that can also play LB in case Lewis gets injured would be ideal, I think. Dummett being fit would be like a new signing but he's not the answer we're looking for.

At least theoretically we can go after the top tier journeymen seeking one last payday near the end of their careers instead of the bargain bin ones we're used to.

I'm extremely happy with shortermism to ensure survival given our position.

I hope he spent loads on the gloves, ended up not liking them when he got back home but was unable to return them because he'd already had his grubby (probably too oily) little mitts in them. I hope the sales assistant gave him shit for even trying.

Interesting to hear a reporter on radio today claiming there is slight concern from agents (he’s been talking to) who they are actually meant to be dealing with at NUFC as chain of command unclear. If true hoping this will be in place ready for January 1st.
