Transfer rumours

Yeah but we had plenty of rumours since we got rich. I rather read the more reputable ones.

How reliable is that source?

Very. This is basically the oldest portuguese sports newspaper in existence (76-yr old).

Sharing with you the top comment:

"Newcastle is the perfect match for this guy:

The team fits him. Low defensive block, doesn't have to worry about depth in counter-attacks, he will take 20/30 shots per match which will allow him to explore the unnecessary overly-artistic side of his saves at easy shots, he won't really need to have any criteria in shooting the ball forward (he can just blindly shoot it after saving it like he likes to), and has no pressure to win titles.

And for us, this is the chance to make a millionaire sale, since those guys are swimming in money now, and no other team at NUFC level can pay such a high value.

My only problem with this is that our management will surely have a way to replace him by someone worse. They will do it. They do it all the time."

Sounds like “here’s a terrific opportunity to sell our crap to a naive club that’s newly flush with cash.”

‘Botman is regarded among the most promising talents in his position and it may be indicative of Newcastle’s ambition under their new owners that they are exploring the possibility of signing him’

The article reckons £40 million price tag. Dutch under 21.

Prices are definitely getting jacked up for us if that’s the price

There are more, but as examples Lille got €80m for Pepe, season after they sold Pepe they sold Osimhen for €72m (bought him for €22.5m year before) so Lille is definitely not in the habit of letting their star players go on the cheap.

  Charming Portuguese agent in a hat standing at the back of a board meeting. "You know, a club with money's a little like the mule with the spinning wheel; no one knows how he got it and danged if he knows how to use it."

There are other comments in there actually suggesting that we should trick NUFC to buy some more horrible players from our squad lol

Eddie loves a left footed centre back on the left side, which is why he kept giving Clark a chance.

Botman is left footed and so could well be something in that one as we must be looking at bringing in another left footed centre back.

Wouldnt mind Tarkowski - he’s also left footed and available at a decent price
