Missed the game today and didn’t have a signal until the final whistle. I was initially disappointed we one again failed to win one of the few winable games but reading the reaction I feel more positive.

it’s gonna be a monumental effort to stay up from this position though.

We were unlucky with their 3rd goal like.

This goal was incredibly lucky, the amount of balls that fell to a yellow shirt was ridiculous, i said in play how mad it was and then sure enough bang in the net , we are so unlucky man

Our defence was shite, the referee gave 4 minutes add time when there was at least 6 and I’ve just walked out The Dog & Parrot where my childhood hero SuperMac has given his post match thoughts to a bar room of imbeciles. Malcolm, how did it come to   this?

It’s really hard to care again, makes me feel sick

Have to believe we’ll drop Darlow and add Miggy, which will both help.

If that was the first game of a new season I would’ve been very happy with it. Just a shame we hoyed away 10 games.

Anyway, I’m a fan again, which is class.

The players put more effort in, but you can't polish a turd.

Don't forget two important things, which makes this game a disappointment - a must win for us, especially as we went bottom!

1 - Players are in the 'honeymonn' phase with new manager and owners.

2 - It was against Brentford at home!

Fucking hell, same Brentford that drew 3-3 with Liverpool, beat Arsenal and beat West Ham at home.

Just got in from the game , a few bullet points to sum it up how I saw it .

Joelinton was magnificent, shame he didn’t get the winner

Darlow is a bastard

Willock was influential in nothing

Shelvey had a good game

We still looked so uncomfortable in our play

Wilson never got a sniff

They got soooooo lucky on the third goal

point was about right .

Atmosphere was better .

That might be darlows last game between the sticks as I see it.

Overall I'm genuinely not too worried. I think we'll be in a much healthier position by the end of the January window if we continue to play like we did today (going forward at least). The sooner we bin off Ritchie, Clark and Darlow the better.

I think even by Christmas we could have an extra 10-12 points on the board. Not everything will be as bad as it looks on paper. If Watford, who we dominated under Bruce, can beat Man Utd 4-1 then we can pick up a few wins.

Positives

We kept the ball

We attacked in numbers

We pressed

Joelinton had his best game for us

Negatives

The central midfield was poor

We're still far too easy to play through (largely because of the above)

Clark started with Ritchie and Murphy at wing back

Willock/Shelvey is not a partnership that can work btw. It’s not really a surprise we were very easy to play through.

Seems like Shelvey and Hayden is the only option that could work until Jan. Unless we can repurpose Miggy or something.
