Morning lads,

Im after a new monitor for my PC in the New Year as my crappy 15" has seen better days. Problem is though Im not up on what to be looking for when it comes to picking a good one.

Looking on Ebuyer most of the 19" screens are about £200 although for about another 30 or 40 quid I could pick up a 20" one.

Thoughts? Any recommendations? I have £300 to spend max.

Thanks

don't get a Dell one - they aren't as good as the others IMHO

Ive heard bad things about Dell too so will be staying clear of them.

I chose the missus a 19" widescreen LCD, cost £120 and it's fucking awesome (No dead pixels, great response, brightness and viewing angles). Was a Xerox and they don't appear to sell it any more, but the other cheap 19" widescreens (such as http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=15286&GroupID=1172 ) are probably the same panel (it has the exact same specs).

If you want to spend £300, there's a nice looking 22" widescreen Samsung (http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=15263&GroupID=1775 ) which I've been looking at for myself (has had good reviews).

Same monitor but 2" smaller, £115 cheaper delivered: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000F9SNIW/

Nice one Dave looks like a bit of a bargain to me. Thats top of me list at the moment I think. Good find.

One other thing that worrys me slightly is how do I know if my PC will accpet a DVI input? At the moment my current monitor uses one of the old fashioned blue 15 pin connections (whatever theyre known technically as).
