Kieran Trippier (now playing for Wolves)

Absolutely amazing that people still seem to want to completely ignore the reality of PSR. Monaco want to pay money for our 34 year old backup right back? Obviously it depends on the fee, but if it's anything remotely reasonable then you have to accept it.

Couldn't disagree more. Whatever we could get in transfer fee is so insignificant to the importance he brings to the team. Trippier is a class act and to replace someone with his quality and big game experience would be incredibly tough. He'll be needed a lot next season with us having 60+ games. Love Tripps

He's been this squad's Beardsley, a consummate pro (on the pitch!), England international nearing 30 when he arrived, someone who raises everyone around him by his attitude and ability who really buys into what we're doing.

34 isn't old these days, he could play at the top level for another year or two easily.

as stated a big season here for him with his off the pitch qualities what with all that's gone on and he could be crucial on the occasions he's used, he was looking way sharper and switched on the last few games, when he's on his game he is a hell of an asset

It’s absolutely amazing that people seem to be ignoring the value of leadership, team cohesion and squad depth in a season where we’ll have our backs against the wall playing 60 games and a transfer window in which we are struggling to sign players as it is.

Absolutely out of the question. Whatever skimpy fee we get for him will barely make a dent in the fee it would take to replace him. Not to mention the leadership, mentoring and experience we'd be losing.

Tell Monaco to get themselves to fuck unless they want to pay 150m for Isak

I'm not saying he's not a valuable player. But if we can recognise even £4m of PSR profit on Trippier that allows us to spend £20m on the player who is potentially Livramento's competition for most of the next decade. I love what Trippier has done for us but there were times last season he got blown past by players (Marmoush against City being the worst example) and, sadly, that is going to get worse. And it's going to get worse very quickly. Unless Trippier is some kind of genetic freak we are probably looking at him being cooked in 3-24 months (he could even be cooked already...he hasn't started a competitive match since 4 May). And once he's cooked, you aren't getting a fee for him and the money for our new RB comes out of that year's headroom - meaning we can't buy other players.

All depends on the fee. If we're talking only booking £1m-£2m PSR profit then it's not worth it. If it's double that then it's interesting. Partly this does come down to how well we are set up for the PSR system. We should have an approach where we're ready to sell any player at any moment and have a list of people we want. So, theoretically, we should know who Trippier's replacement is and any deal should involve them arriving before the end of the transfer window if we decided to sell.

If he plays tonight, his mastery of shithousing will be crucial to get the players and fans into the scousers' cunts. Not that we'd need any more reasons for it anyways but to keep the momentum and atmosphere hostile and passionate throughout, Tripps knows what needs be done.

He's certainly good for another season

Still think so ?
He was finished at the top last season, his free kicks have been poor for a good 18 month. Now he is also prone to mistakes consistently.

I don't think he was finished last season,he ended it strongly. He's not my first choice but I think we'll need him at times
