Even against Rashford he did well overall, bar 1 or maybe 2 moments when Rashford did him with pace and trickery. Yes he is lacking pace a bit, but he often more than makes up for it with solid fundamentals Nether Rashford goals were down to Tripps mind. Jack14Bojangles
Tripps always reminds me of a terrier, the way he plays. He's a fighter, and I like that.
Erikse
Very far from the same impact offensively, but in a way that has shifted the focus towards being more reliable defensively, and he has looked much more solid at the back. Even at his best he would make a mess of it defensively at times, but we haven't seen those mistakes in a while. Thought he was done for at one point. I don't think he was very good against Forrest, errors aside he slowed down our play a lot on the ball, Elanga was having to check runs 2 or 3 times in a single phase while waiting for Trippier to release it. He's always looking for the overlap but that gives the opposition time to reset their defence as we ready our attack. When he plays with Murphy he knows now he can just give it to Murph who'll put in an early ball. Didn't used to be like that I remember when they first started playing regularly together there was a bit of a disconnect. I think he needs to figure Elanga out, hopefully won't take long. Maybe as he gets older he can sit deeper and tuck in, be that defensive playmaker like Trent was for Liverpool, rather than trying to get up and around the box. gbandit
Pound for pound one of the best defensive headerers of the ball we’ve ever had. The amount of headers he wins despite being smaller than the opposing player is immense
nufcjmc
Not to be negative for negative sake tonight but thought he was poor passing directly to them on quite a few occasions, did manage to recover the ball a few times too to his credit. Hes probably playing too much through lack of quality alternative looked visibly knackered by 80mins. Not sure we can afford to rotate for Fulham with kraft but worry we are asking too much of him. HayDen Traces
He's been an incredible signing for this club and the first to sign under the new owners, so he'll always be the poster boy for the revival to many
Kid Icarus
It's not his fault really, can't be relying on a 35 year old this regularly, but we kind of have to for the time being unless we're playing someone poor enough that Howe's okay with playing Krafth. Lucky
Defensively excellent tonight. His best days are behind him but he looks after himself so he’s kept a very good level. But agreed, we can’t run him into the ground.

GOTONEW
His constant pointing, shouting, guiding, and pushing is often overlooked. He's a massive player for us. But I'm a massive Trippier fanboy, tbf.

Vaj
Thought he did alright. My main frustration with him is his lack of desire to ever shoot, always annoyed me and that chance at the end of the first half was perfect for him to hit it. He has the ability but always looks to pass instead

Agreed I am sure he loves getting plenty of game time and still being involved in the "big" games. Hes never going to be as good as he used to be but a 35 year old trips is still excellent to have to call upon just annoying we cant seem to give him a break the full backs are constantly up and down in our system so its full 90s for our aging BDB and trips with still plenty of games to play before players are back. Might be my glass half empty outlook to life but feel something will have to give eventually calling upon them time and time again.
Ellis H
Not necessarily related to Trippier but why do we never get central free kicks we can shoot from? I was expecting him to score a few a season from them but we get nothing. Feels like they’re a dying art for some reason.
Kanj
Has to be said how much I hate how we didn’t get him a year or two younger because it’s dead killing me seeing him so far off the attacking weapon he was for us right before that form fell off a cliff. wished he took that shot Tonight! Zero
Not his best game, questionable positioning, but can’t blame him. 2 full matches per week for a 35 years old full back is insane.

I assume contributing factor is referees more happy to play on now and especially in recent seasons, not buying into the soft fouls on strikers in central positions. NSG
One of our greatest ever signings, so willing to cut him a bit of slack for the odd misplaced pass. Probably his last season as a first team regular as no doubt we’ll go big on a fullback at some point in the next two windows.

A captain's performance when it really mattered.
