Kieran Trippier (now playing for Wolves)

Recommended Posts

He simply hasn't adapted his game as his legs have started to let him down. Still tries to push on but hasn't got the engine any more to get back.

Thiaw is having to do twice the work defensively which is why he's starting to look iffy too.

The Bournemouth cup game was my moment of realisation as one of their not so speedy players ran away from him comfortably.

As it happens saw earlier today a Gary Neville clip talking about his performance against WBA which led to him retiring. Simply had a nightmare of a half, got subbed - said it made him realise he wasn't up to it anymore and had to retire.

Parallels with today’s game. Trippier has been a wonderful servant but he’s labouring now. If he wants to continue playing unfortunately it can’t be here.

I think we've seen it before today

His passing is poor, when it used to be a strength of his, but for me it's how he goes rushing into empty spaces and the ball is either played past him or a player just swivels and jogs beyond him and he can't keep up

Think it's going to be a rough ending for his final months here, which is sad to see because he's been one heck of a servant for us

Aye, his pace is well gone but we've/he's not adapted at all.

Outside of him looking pretty rubbish defensively, he just slows the game down in key moments far too much for my liking.

He is trying to adapt, look at him giving acres of space to the Brentford player for their 2nd because he knows that if he gets too close he will just get passed. You just can't have a FB being that slow, there is no adapting.

Trippier's time is up. As long as he's playing right-back, we'll concede one or two goals in every game.

The passivity on the cross that led to the equalizer today was truly awful.

No pressure was applied to the opposing winger, allowing him to deliver the perfect cross with complete ease.

The 1-2 goal also came from his side because he had advanced too far and was running back too slowly.

Opposition will continue to target him now - he’s the new Dan Burn

We should have shaken hands in the summer - parted ways - leaves as an icon

Totally exposed now and really sad to see - we hold on to players far too long and it’s frustrates the hell out of me

Yep, not a coincidence that all three Brentford goals came from Outtara having space/freedom on Trippiers side even though he started playing on the right

It's a sorry sight to see such an iconic hero being reduced to this, it can't go on this way! Similar to watching Cal last season, it'spainfully obvious he's just not a PL player for the level we aspire to anymore. At the moment he's a man down at best and a liability at worst.

If we had 4 fit CBs I would have tried Thiaw as emergency RB for the next game.

Murphy has played ok there before. Not optimal for sure, but we just can't keep going on with this massive liability.

He's too slow now, should have been punted 2 years ago, but no, he's still here making pensioners look fast.

To be fair he was very good in the cup final,

so 2 years is ludicrously harsh. But the gig looks up now, for sure.

I love Trippier, massively important to us. But he seems so far off it now. Not his fault at all, hate to see him get any shit

I'm completely on the same page, he's been so good for us and so important to this transistion that I really really hate watching him now, because I'm going to start hating him and I really don't want that. He's so far off it now it's hard to watch so I just want it to stop for his benefit as well as ours.

Bar the cup final he hasn’t been good tbh - for a few years now

Was a spell where he was giving away goals left right and centre (I remember 3-0 Everton A, Chelsea in the cup) he was never the same after that spell

Like Miley, Tonali can play RB also, and has done in big games for AC Milan

He's never been the same since that stupid ring doorbell thing bar the odd game, it obviously massively got into his head last season and now he's just succumbing to father time. He was consistently fantastic prior to that though.

Yeah I remember that spell, he absolutely turned it around again and was invaluable for a spell including the cup final and the winning run, but anyway, doesn’t matter much at the moment.

Agreed. His ‘Neville’ moment has already happened tbh. Too many times.
