TRC
Not fair to criticize the bloke, club legend being hung out to dry

Andy
Sick of seeing him make a blatantly wayward pass then flail his arms at whoever is in front of him as if they somehow should've known that he'd misplace it. Happens at least two or three times a match. Can forgive his legs going but this always really annoys me from such an experienced player.
Newcastle Fan
I understand losing the abillity to run or some stamina but how did he lose the abillity to kick a ball properly.

I don't think he has ever been the same since his groin injury. Seems shit scared to cross the ball now in case his leg pops and he can't make the strippers on an evening

KaKa
This guy is going to get a new contract isn't he Trippier told the club programme: "I'm far from done as a player. I think age is just a number. "With the nutrition we've got these days and the way you look after your body and yourself, it's key. "That's what I have been doing throughout my career and I still feel fit, strong like I've still got many years left in my playing career." The crunch decision for Newcastle will be whether they can offer Trippier a one or two-year deal. Howe had said on Friday: "I think his long-term future will be something again that we discuss, but it won't be one way. It'll be with Kieran. "Kieran's vastly experienced, he knows what he wants as well, so we'll sit together and we'll try and come to the right conclusion for everybody." Trippier also stated he would be keen to go for a different role in the future too, he said: "I definitely see myself as being a coach in the future." TheBrownBottle
‘Age is just a number’ And that’s why you see so many 50- and 60-odd year olds still playing PL football

Rich
Would be amazed if we don’t extend both him and Schär.

With the work there is to do I don't see why we'd let a very good CB walk away for nowt. Trippier is very much in the twilight of his career but Krafthy is away this summer and we're vulnerable to losing Tino. We could do without having to sign multiple RBs. It's not synonymous with progression but I do think it would be pragmatic. For instance you can absolutely see why we offered Wilson an extension. Superior Acuña
Not necessarily opposed if he's largely there for similar reasons to Matt Ritchie was in his final season, but he needs to be another notch down the pecking order - can't be playing as much as this season. Maybe if we scrape into the Conference League he'd get more game time.

As a fourth choice CB he'd be the best you could get in the division.
AJ9
We don’t really need a huge squad next year so Tripps, Burn and Schar being extended is fine for 1 year. We need left back more than anything.
HaydnNUFC
31 minutes ago, Rich said: Would be amazed if we don’t extend both him and Schär. I do actually think we miss Schar's passing ability atm but with Trippier at RB we've got probably the slowest options for the back line in the league. With Man City sniffing about Tino in addition to his injury record, fuck my life if Trippier is still here and getting minutes next season at 36. Because he can barely move? Have you seen him trying to turn? Seen more agility in masters football. He's obviously been an absolute immense servant but I'd rather he go and remember the good times than witness him trying to actually move on the pitch. As we should have learnt by now. Anyone in our squad needs to be able to play twice a week every week. If they aren't capable of that then they should be moved on.
Kimbo
I think our CB’s are a problem tbh. Thiaw and Botman are decent players individually but neither are leaders and I don’t think they’ll make a great pair. We need someone that can be the main man.
timeEd32
He's been our weakest link for the last 6 weeks, but it's also not his fault. As frustrating as he's been to watch at time he's a legend for giving us so many minutes. And outstanding tonight (even if he causes a goal in the last 10 minutes).
