Kieran Trippier (now playing for Wolves)

Recommended Posts

Funny to think he missed almost all of his first half season with us through injury. His influence alone in those back to back Leeds/Everton/Villa games were probably worth it alone! More than made up for lost time the following year anyway.

Cheers fella. Player of the seaaon in his first season here playing about 6 games.

Wonder what his plans are, obviously a last pay day but beyond that ? I'd hoped he'd move on to the staff and wouldn't be surprised if he spends some time back with Simeone before moving into coaching.

That free-kick against Everton wasn't just one of my favourite goals since the takeover, it provoked possibly my favourite ever post on the forum.

I will be clean for him.

He is arguably our most important player since the take over, another one is Bruno.

Man. He is truly a club legend. He saved us from that relegation

Unreal signing especially for the amount we paid for him.

His experience and calmness has been brilliant over the years, and he has been a quality signing.

Nice one Tripps and best of luck with Serie A or wherever you head to next.

Anyone else get the feeling we’re losing a lot of big voices in the dressing room and not replacing them? Could be another reason we’re looking so soft and mentally weak this season.

Transfer window hasn't opened yet and we still have plenty of senior players in the squad. We've known for sometime we need to bring the average age of the squad down as well.

We could always adopt a different approach and involve coaches more with that side of things. Better players will need the likes of them less, as useful as they are.

I vote we implement an 'Every man for himself, only the strong survive' approach where temporary alliances are constantly being made and broken as the players stab each other in the back, side and front in the never ending jockeying for position in the tribe.

We're hiring Mourinho?

@Heron, it needs a bit of refinement but here's an idea for a simple send off flag for Trippier if wor flags had something planned for the last home game of the season.

That's mint, like all your stuff, but he deserves a full stand display a la Gordon/ASM/Isak.

I think this is true.

That side that won the league cup has the perfect blend of age.

Losing prime Pope, Trippier, Burn, Schar, Lascelles, Krafth and likely Tonali is going to be difficult to replace as a dressing room unit.

That I always felt like was the biggest disappointment in not signing Guehi.   Like Tonali we were signing a natural leader  who would replace what we lose in Schar in the dressing room as well.

Dressing room is the dressing room.  Real Madrid don’t look the same as a unit since losing all their leaders.

Oh wow, honestly thought we already had a proper full stand display when I first asked

I like the pic of him holding the cup with the fans behind him, or the one of him in the middle of a huddle with Sven, BDB, Fab

Sad day, but expected. Will go down as my favorite ever player for us. The standards that he brought as well as moments like giving Miley the armband

and Jamaal at wembley with the trophy list.

See Wilson/Isak situation for our previous.

I don't think we knew Isak was leaving tbf. There seemed to be a misguided belief that he wouldn't be a cunt.

See him cover his face with emotion at the final whistle at 2:10:15. Was so glad he was part of that - it made me sad when we lost the 2023 final thinking key transformational players like him weren't going to get to share in that first cup. Honestly him leaving and thinking about it at all has really put the derby defeat into perspective.
