That's what will be so frustrating if the transfer window turns out to be a failure. There was clearly an opportunity with Trippier but frankly, other than him, it looks like we've been wasting time going after players who just aren't realistic signings for one reason or another. We just need some well-placed upgrades. Even Wood, who's probably nowt special, makes a difference cos he's a focal point. We just need some players to make us collectively function better. Mattoon Posted January 22, 2022 Share Posted January 22, 2022 1 CB, with Fede and Schar I think a commanding CB will bring them on 2 CM, good performances from our midfield today but none of them are good enough or consistent enough to get through the season. 1 ST, Wood is not the answer, we've paid £25m for someone to get on the end of long balls.
