Happy the club have left it and walked away, absolute joke from Ekitike and his entourage. TBF it could be Frankfurt which have put the skids on it. They'll have their value in mind, like ours with Isak (priceless)

They’d be better off letting us sign Ekitike in the hope we’re more open to Isak offers next season? Not really. They’ll be able to afford him and probably play them both together as we’d planned to

I get that but they’d be missing out on their 1st choice & potentially open the door to another cartel club making that club stronger. Adam P
Liverpool's power move wasnt very good. If we walk away and they sign him, fair enough but the deal will always look weird because of them saying they want Isak. I guess they can spin it as warding off our interest in him. southernmag
If Ekitike had really wanted to come here, he could and would have pushed for it. Clearly he doesn't feel an affinity to our 'project'. Doesn't now and didn't when he went to PSG. Let's go after players who actually want to be here.
southernmag
Must confess I started a new career mode on FC25 today on the basis we were signing him. Turns out FIFA is crapper than it's ever been and Ekitike's dogged us anyway. I feel dirty.

Kid Icarus
Don't think there's ever been a player more in need of a reducer when they play us.

The main threat to us losing our best player, the club we all really don't want him to join, is signing a different player who plays in his position. That's pretty good news? Chicken Dancer
I'm not even just peddling this because he's going to Liverpool, but the entire thing never really seemed right to me. Sure, I was excited at the prospect of having him AND Isak next season, but they just strike me as being too similar in more or less everything. He certainly seemed different to the Pedro type of player, but happy to stand corrected on that. I confess I've only watched him live 3 or 4 times, so there'll be plenty on here who will tell me it WOULD have worked, but there's no guarantee . Albeit lesser players, but Ba & Cisse never worked and there'll be countless examples at other clubs. I think ultimately we were trying to sign Isak's replacement for a future window before everyone knows we have £150m+, with the intention of 'phasing' him in (he'd still have started loads and loads of games) before becoming the main man eventually - probably next summer. Can't say I'm going to lose too much sleep over it. We're keeping Isak and have a clear intention to spend some decent money on a forward. Happy days.
