Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Recommended Posts

If the club are doing this (Big if) then I think its in the same mould as the Tonali deal. Tonali was signed IMO in preparation for someone triggering the Bruno release clause the following summer. Can see us agreeing a similar contract with Isak this summer and any Ekitike deal gets us ahead of future markets. The club know they need to become better at selling and Ekitike at the right price now strengthens future negotiation positions.

Watkins and Jackson valued at £100m with this lad at £86m. Isak must be knocking on £250m.

On this basis, does this mean we could shift Shola Ameobi for £50m? Would be pure PSR profit too.

No fucker will actually pay that much for either though.

If we were to sign Ekitike, Trafford and Scalvini then I think we could go on a title run. The issue would be also playing in Europe and the depth of our squad. If we made those signings and weren’t in Europe I’d expect us to be top three

There’s still a couple of question marks over them like there would be with any player. Does Ekitike have an attitude issue? Could Scalvini stay fit? Will Traffords form in the championship translate to the Prem?

Imagine if we got all right answers though - we could be a very very serious outfit.

Still seen no evidence of a bad attitude apart from he ended up going to PSG.

PSG seemed to think he had a bad attitude

edit: mostly because he was easily second fiddle to MBappe and never getting ahead of him.  Perhaps our bench would be comfier.

Will Salah and VVD's legs hold out ? Will they get a plug and play striker ?

How much will they miss TAA ?

Every team has question marks.

Few articles posted a few pages back about his attitude at PSG. May have matured a bit

100%, I'd also be even more confident with an additional midfielder too (in dreamland!).

I'd love Ekitike but I'm pretty certain this has been put out by the club to force Liverpool's hand.

As in they'll bid for Ekitike and that moves them away from Isak ?

You can only see that if we have to stick to the 433. I think we'll see a lot more variation this season.

Even if we change the system, that means Joelinton is dropped. He was one of our best players last season. If Ekitike comes, Isak leaves next year or Gordon this summer.

And still we need CM and a big money defender, maybe even a GK. Dont think this has legs.

It doesn't mean that at all

I think with 40 plus games next season we would have no problem giving enough games to both Isak and Ekitike even if we just rotated them as strikers.

This is true, but why would he accept that?

The thing is, that's how you progress. Starters become less important and so on. If the club has the ambition that they seem to have then nobody will be exempt from this.

We need quite a few players. Signing expensive second striker leaves huge gaps in our squad. Really cannot see this. Usually the ones on the bench are cheaper, younger players who are developed. Not 70 or so million striker that everyone is after.
