Is CB not a bigger concern right now? 3/4 of them aren't far off retirement.

I'd love two world class strikers, sure.

Why worry? They’ll have a plan and they’ll know what they are doing

Who's to say we wont get both? They know what they're doing.

We're potentially on the verge on signing one of the best young strikers in Europe, embrace it.

Fair enough. Hope it goes the way you expect it to.

It’s not my money, I trust our overlords to splurge as they see fit!

^ This. If they've run the numbers, and believe that after Elanga, a deal for Ekitike can be done, as well as deals for Trafford and potentially Scalvini, and anyone else, to be honest..... then who am I to question it?

Bring it on, I say!!! :clap2::indi:

I saw a post on twitter, can't remember who from showing the top 10 most expensive signings and apparently all of them were hits. Under that scenario I would just trust them with whatever they want to do tbh

Surely Liverpool will have to step in eventually, some of their delusional fans think we would sell Isak if Ekitike came in but I think the club know Isak is untouchable this summer. I just hope we’ve got a back up plan because these drawn out transfer sagas are only worthwhile if we get our man.

I still don't think this is happening.

but if its true - Is no one else worried that it's a misuse of funds?

Little bit. Tbh I've doubted our speed and decisiveness with transfers, but virtually every fee including the big ones have proven justified thus far.

So I guess if Ekitike signs, we're either going two up top (seems unlikely) or using him as a wide forward? YT videos suggest he's comfortable on the flanks even if that's not his most natural position.

In the case of two up front, presumably if one of Isak/Ekitike is missing, we just revert to one up top.

In before Chelsea sign him and this was all pointless.

I still find this one very hard to fully believe... although I'd love it to happen.

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, one of the sources I was speaking to seriously doubted this story, but his qualms were mainly with how Romano is used as a pawn (potentially paid) by selling clubs to flush out interest. I hope that's not what's happening here, but it all feels a bit wrong to me somehow.
