Have these owners, that have come along and been rinsed on the way, been beguiled by regular "big" crowds then realised it's a mirage?

Literally yes. Quinn said Short would put money in as long as they got 40k+ crowds. That's why he went bezerk about them watching games in the pub and complaining about not having good bus services to the ground.

Its like they said in pre-season they'd be happy with midtable but forgot that that means losing as often as you win and want to renage on that contract now they've remembered losing doesn't feel nice.

You'd need to take 15k off that to be near the true figure and I don't believe 15k ticket holders didn't show up because it was too cold!

Clearly plucking figures out of thin air [emoji38]

The weather put around 10k off coming.

Just read that on there, so a bit cold causes 10k to not go? Are they really that fucking stupid that they can't see it's every game. Ten thousand alleged (according to their club) paying customers not turning up due to cold weather, howay man

Watching the news with Mrs G and the sports bit was on about last night's game.

She's just had her gall bladder out today so is wrapped up and in pain esp if she laughs.

Anyways after the bit about the game and a little giggle about the ball being out of play for WBAs winner they mentioned the Food Bank collecting from supporters.

Van looked empty but people were handing donations over.

"That's disgusting that" she says

"what? Collecting at a match?" I asked

"Nah, there should be way more than that"

Just then the woman from the food bank told the reporter she had a full van when it clearly wasn't

"just like their attendances" says Mrs G then reels in agony from her guffaw. So proud of her.

Somethiing just occured to me, they have a 48000 seater with half of it closed off.... so their gates cant be more than 24000 at the most or there abouts

They only have the upper tier closed off. The capacity is 35k plus whatever the away team bring.
