It will always be the case that season ticket holders and members don’t agree on things but a lot of season ticket holders would have been in the same situation years ago. For the Premier league era in the 90s you couldn’t get in at all if you didn’t have a season ticket. Maybe a few hundred would

go on sale if the away team returned some. There wasn’t any chance of getting in unless it was a cup game or someone gave you their ticket. It’s better for people without a season ticket now than it was then and that will have been an issue for probably a majority of the people that currently have them.

It’s pretty much the reason I always kept mine on, as I never wanted to be locked out like I was when I was a kid

Exactly, I was a teen in the 90's and locked out unless my mates sister didn't use her ticket, which wasn't very often. It's better now than it was then, but back then it was totally gutting to never have a chance of buying a match ticket under my own steam.

I think what's really frustrating for members is that we're not asking for anything to be taken away from people who have ST's.

We're just asking for a route to get us closer to what an ST gives access to and a level of earned priority over the punters who have minimal interest in going to matches other than applying for the odd game here and there.

So the "where were you when we were shit" sneering attitude from some (not all) ST's just seems spiteful and is fuelling an "us and them" divide.

They can fuck off with the ‘you should have bought a ticket when we were shit’. Approx 10,000 people packed in to try to force Ashley out when Rafa left, most of us having sat through two relegations like everyone else.

There’s an element of our ST fanbase who spectate rather than support, wouldn’t do anything that gets in the way of their matchday routine to get behind a bigger cause, and now have this superiority complex over members. So I guess the us and them divide works both ways, because I look around SJP on matchdays and think no wonder the atmosphere is worse now than it was when we were shit.

Yes I remember queuing up on Thursday or Friday morning to get tickets mid 90s but you had to be there for like 3/4am as there was only ever a few hundred on sale.

There’s one bloke in my local who has two platinum seats but barely  goes and doesn’t even seem that arsed, not sure whether his son goes or what. But he has the tickets on a separate phone so it looks like he’s going each time.

Bit ridiculous announcing the dates for this game of all games half an hour before the application window opens.

Just whilst we're on about tickets for the Makems...

They said at the Ticketing Workshop that they'll be implementing member eligibility criteria to be able to buy tickets for the home game.

But they also said they'd implemented member eligibility criteria for the Liverpool game, which I queried when they said it as I couldn't recall any communication about that.

Thanks. I’d have mised that if hadn’t seen your post. Missed two games already this season.

Yeah, that’s what I mean. People are busy. Some don’t use social media. Whacking up ‘applications open in half hour’, isn’t really very helpful when there’s only a 24hr window to apply.

Overall, I don’t mind the 24hr window as such, as it speeds the process up, but announce when it’s going to be a few days before. That way people get a chance to see it, note it, and it’s on them to make arrangements so they don’t forget.

In this particular instance, I suspect the discussion/decision about the mutual reduced allocations (🙄) has delayed things. Fair enough. But they must have known they were close last week, so just put a holding statement out, saying you ‘expect arrangements to be announced shortly’, so it at least gets on folks radar, rather than banging it out of nowhere.

When I saw the Burnley one go up I thought best keep an eye out next week for this one. Could have easy missed it.

Particularly in an international break when not reading as much online.

How will this work any ideas?

The simplest thing would be to say it’s only accessible to those who’ve had a membership for X months or something.

Won’t stop the touts who’ve been on it from the start of the season, but would stop mackems in the home end unless they’ve really planned in advance.

Fastest dancer competition on stage at The Stack hosted by DJ Onedek. With mandatory drug testing.

Or some form of eligibility based on having had a membership for a minimum length of time and either how many ballots you’ve applied for / tickets you’ve bought if you don't ballot.

This is just my assumption though, nothing specific was revealed.

Applied for Burnley, as per, with a zero success rate so far.

Got to thinking. Obviously we don't know how many members there are, how many apply per game and, more importantly, how many tickets are allocated so working g out the odds is impossible 😂

As I've boasted previously we got invited into a box for the Spuds cup game, bought 10 x£2 Foundation draw tickets and won 2nd prize. Two tickets to the Spuds league game, incoming.

I wonder if the odds on winning tickets via the draw are less than the ballot?

It's a joke really 😂

I know I can have a go at Members resale but, as has been discussed, getting 2 together is impossible.

Other than that our annual £100 investment is rewarded by being given 1st dabs on £500 trainers I don't want or a chance to go to the Stack, at 4.30 of a Thursday, and watch Shola eat an apple.

I’m not sure what they can do tbh limiting membership numbers will be unfair to some. Other than build a new stadium that’s gonna take years

If they limit numbers only by having purchase windows - Jun to Aug and Jan, then that doesn't feel unfair at all.

In the vast majority of cases, someone wanting to go to games but not bothering to buying a membership in those windows probably isn't actually that arsed about going to games.

Obviously there might be exceptions, like someone who's a lifelong match going fan with a membership goes into prison in May and then gets an unexpected early release in Feb and can't go to games for the rest of the season.

But should we really be offering unlimited memberships all season long just to keep the tiny minority happy.

Even having membership windows won't stop the touts, but at least it's a way to prevent a tout who gets banned from just signing straight back up again.

the demand will still outweigh tickets. People will still buy memberships to get to 1 or 2 games a season.

I don't think anyone is suggesting capping memberships at 20,000 because that's the amount of non-ST seats we've got and therefore demand will match supply.

As it stands, the number of members can go to infinity because there's no barrier to purchase.

But with purchase windows for memberships, at least there'll be a finite amount of members during the 1st then 2nd halves of the season. It could be 10,000 or 100,000, but it'll be fixed for that period.

Right now, someone that isn't even an NUFC fan (a new tout, a tout who’s been banned, a holiday maker, an away fan, a local neutral who fancies seeing a top flight game etc) can just buy a membership today and stand exactly the same chance in the next ballot as members who've been applying for every game since August.

That's what's really unfair.

Yeah, every day since Thursday or Friday last week. There was some placeholder/data entry text there on Frlday but nothing since.

Edit: Apparently you can get that notification if something has changed so if they're playing with QR/barcode format that makes sense. Hope it's not a new notification each time the QR changes for security 😂

They've also tried 5 times to take a payment from me for something this morning but had to send a payment link in the end, so something else that's broken!
