Yeap, I totted up how much I spent last season for tickets, transport and general spend on a match day and it genuinely made me cringe.

Also my interest in the whole sport is waning massively, don't find it very entertaining nowadays.

Same. I was on another thread the other day saying I've barely watched a PL game on TV this season that wasn't us, and even then my attention would often wonder to my phone or other things and it became a background distraction. Wasn't a difficult decision to not renew our memberships at all.

Still enjoy going to the Non League games and the past 3 or 4 seasons we've really got into going up to watch Berwick Rangers and thoroughly enjoy that. Also got Heaton Stan on the doorstep who I watch occasionally and of course we've renewed our season tickets at PSV as we've made so many really good friends there over the last 20 odd years and matchdays are a brilliant social event with daft amounts of drink taken and also the people who sit around us are top class so I could never imagine not going. I'll be fine with no PL football to go to next season.

I don’t mind at all being on my own at the match. Nice to meet before or after. I suppose for huge moments it’s nice to share with someone but your average game I’m not arsed. Maybe my only childness showing.

Hard to say how often people will move up the list. I guess it can only happen once the club have established someone isn’t renewing their membership etc.

On the email it doesn’t say you need to continue to enter 75% of ballots or attend X games or anything like that, so maybe you literally just need to keep being a member.

They can't do it like that. Imagine if someone 1000th on the waiting list renewed without going to matches for 8 years, but someone 30,000th applied for and attended over 75% of matches in the same time frame?

I think they'll announce some T&C's for moving up and down or staying in a category.

FWIW I queried this with Supporter Services as I had a moan at them about what I deemed a technicality in deciding the priority pots and they told me entering ballots etc makes no difference from this point, the waiting list is now the waiting list.

But I agree it seems ridiculous, the scenario you've outlined is exactly what can potentially happen as it stands.

I thought there’d be more availability in Gallowgate.

Whenever the tickets go on sale to members post ballot I find the Gallowgate, upper tiers aside, to be canny sparse.

Cheers mate. Where about in the ground is there availability?

Strawberry corner I think, and a few dotted about. There was some in the east stand when I moved last week, quite a few singles as well. Could have gone now mind, but maybe not. I had a few options of two together.

Even if only 40k of the 50k on the waiting list were serious about getting a ST, when you add to the current number of ST holders there's 75k ST holders alone as a potential number and that's before you include yearly growth in support, members who are happy to pay as they go and don't want to commit to a ST, corporate fans, then away fans on top of that. It's pretty huge numbers when you think about it.

It’ll be 68-70k 🏟️ As much as I’ve always argued it should be 80k.

Hopefully get some indication later in the year now that ST list is in place and step by step progress is made behind the scenes 🤞🏻

I’d rather have a slightly bigger stadium than we need so everyone who wants to go and watch NUFC can go and watch NUFC, even if there’d be some empty seats for low interest games.

But I suspect the club are more interested in maximising price per seat in a slightly smaller stadium than we need.

I think I’ll be mainly watching on telly next season. Was a tiny number of games last season where I left the ground thinking it’d been a decent experience.

Even if the result was good, fellow attendees that I was in the vicinity of were usually bell whiffs and the atmosphere was nonexistent.

Most games I paid £55+ and then left wondering why I’d bothered. Not good value for money, in my humble opinion.

The bell end count at the match has gone up ten fold in the last decade or so, no doubt.

They seem to be worse now we’ve got a canny team as well.

Based on vibes I reckon you can probably take half of the waiting list away due to people who won’t pay up when their turn comes or keep their membership active. People are fickle. It’s easy to sign up to a free waiting list.

Tens of thousands of angry, depressed or disinterested middle aged men trudging through the turnstiles out of habit because it’s an excuse to get on the drink.

And the worst ones I ended up next to was when we beat Palace so they couldn’t even say it was because we were shite on the pitch. A couple of loud mouthed, obnoxious, money obsessed show offs who behaved like they owned the block and audibly took the piss out of people who didn’t have ST’s. I ranted about it here at the time.
