Not saying a move here would have been better, but shocked he’s signing a new deal.

Why?

Probably a 2-year extension, double his salary - will be the man at Leicester. Decent chance of Europe and Cup success based on recent past. Will be 28/29 when he's available for cheap or free.

I'd be shocked if he signed a 5 or 6 year deal though. 3-4 years and it's a decent move.

Coming up from League 1 - he'll not be anywhere near as wealthy as some of his counterparts.

Because he’s been linked with the likes of Spurs and Arsenal and he would have almost certainly been able to get a big move next summer with only one year left on his deal.

Fair play if he has got a pay rise out if this, can't help but think this might be shortsighted as can't see Leicester been more than a 8-10 club long term, but if he is happy and settled then good luck to him

Rodgers has already said he has no plans to make any signings this summer and they just seemed to coast last season.

Barnes out for a bit as well. Feels like it could be a bit of a perfect storm of crap for Leicester this season. Going to be interesting to see how Vardy fares now he's knocking on a bit too.

Barnes is injured ?

Interesting to see how Vardy copes with the abuse he is about to get

Fair point.

I don't think there's a naturally first XI role for him at either but squad depth and all that.

In that case a £50m-£60m release clause would seem sensible but aye you do reckon in 12 months time he would be low hanging fruit for a solidified top 6 team.

You can see Tielemans going for £25m-£35m in the last few days to Man Utd or similar as well. Such low hanging fruit, someone who hasn't done their business well so far - would bite.

Wasn't @Foxedup saying that Rodgers has refused to take heed about changing his methods which have been leading to a bunch of injuries?

They have a bunch of injuries every season. This might lead to Rodgers getting binned if anything. Crazy that Ricardo is injured again and Barnes is out now too. Damn!

Wish Chelsea would come wading in for some of our dross/unwanted players

Can we get Murphy one of those marketing brochures that Owen put together when no one wanted him?

I can't help but feel that Leicester are going to really struggle this season, especially if anything happens to Vardy, who as an aging pace based player could see his abilities fall off a cliff any time now.

They look a bit like Southampton did when all of their quality players were grabbed by 'big' clubs - didn't help them one bit.

If I were Maddison I'd be really wary of planning on staying. Clearly not his call to accept the bid, but if Rogers sees that his heart isn't in Leicester...
