I think this is very worthy of a thread and a look. 20 bucks on Steam, released in 2013, but apparently the latest update has taken it to an entirely new level. Feels like the kind of game we used to dream about in the SNES days.

Found a pristine car and siphoned some gas from a wreck. No key so I bust the window. Fucking car alarm!

So....I live in the woods now. Legit ran about a mile and sat in the leaves overnight with my flashlight going as long as it could. Guy had a panic attack at about 3am. Good times.

Slowly building a shelter in the forest. :yao:

 Played a few different ways, can't remember specifics, but I think I liked it most when you turned zombie numbers up but respawns off. Seemed harsh to clear out a big area and then five minutes later its teaming again. Ruined the concept of 'progressing'.

They just announced their next big patch will have basements too. And something about generating them when you start the game, i.e. on each play through, every building will have a different basement sitch. Other than a few hardcoded exceptions.

Aye I'm aiming for Louisville again, just skilling up and getting my shit in order and it's nice to not have to fucking clear the gas station every fucking time. Still overwhelming numbers and I've had my share of close calls, but it feels like an even match.
