Solar power mod sounds like a good idea and a lot less hassle. Lets be real if the apocalypse was actually happening, you'd be thieving solar panels from rooftops

Solar panels from Kentucky in 1993?

So, I have an issue, I think because I picked the 'disorganised' trait during character creation it lowers the amount of slots available to me in containers. As such, when I read a skill book it won't let me put it back in the same container, because for me, it thinks there's less space in the container than normal. Because of that, I've had to put any books I read into one of the spare cupboards in the bar - I used one of the ones directly below the hand pumps - so I'll need one of you chaps to move the books back for me if poss please.

That's a really bad one to take. I took slow reader and high thirst. If I was dedicated enough, I'd have taken the ones that make you fat and feeble, then exercised to work them off. I don't do that in reality, so I'm not sitting in a video game doing it.

No more unsupervised reading for you.

Problem solved, I got bitten so died and didn't pick the disorganised trait when I re-rolled, moved the books back into their rightful home.

In other news, can you max out your skill journal so that you have to add pages or use another journal? Just the last couple of times I've died I've ended up having to relearn some levels and re-watch the vhs tapes to get back to previous levels. Also, I was thinking about the spoiled food issue with the fridges/generator problem - I've noticed 'stale' food in fridges before when the electricity is still up, does food go stale even if it's kept in a fridge? So could it be that the food in our fridges was just getting old? Or isn't that a thing? Just wondering how much of an effect the power going off has and whether it accelerates for the periods if the generator isn't on, even for the short period while refilling the fuel (unless we get solar panels - though not sure if they store for overnight power).

stuff will still go stale eventually yes. I don’t know specific timescales.

the issue the other day was that the frozen food has defrosted. Was still “fresh” though at least.

there’s one of the autotsar mods that has a trailer and a “industrial” generator. Seemed a decent option.

It only records "earned" skill. So stuff from vhs doesn't get saved. You just need to watch them again.

Food does go stale regardless. We have too much shit and no system for using it, so some of it will unfortunately go to waste. I'd suggest having the best chef cook up a ton of stuff when it's fresh, and freeze as much of it as possible. Really, those freezers should be stuffed with ready to go meals.

  • lighting mast equipped with 4 lamp spotlights with halogen lamps
  • built-in battery charger
  • liquid cooling
  • excellent value for money
  • fast repair and maintenance

I do not know if it will auto spawn somewhere or I have to admin it in. I guess give it a try and if we find nowt I'll spawn some if I can work out how.

Just so we know, the generator is like, a giant orange trailer thing that connects to a car. Good luck.

I've dropped off a purple bunny suit and head for you bunny suit lovers out there too

Not been out much myself since you added it bud, just been chopping trees and sawing logs... and burning my hand after setting myself alight by accidentally walking to close to a campfire. It's been pretty quiet out and about, thought everyone had deserted me, the zeds haven't come near the bar recently, even with the helicopter buzzing us.

Yeah same. I'd expected to be on a bit but circumstances conspired against. Will hopefully get on for a good bit early this week.

After deciding to up my carpentry properly, instead of using the vids, I decided that building a fence around something would do the trick - thus, the gas station is now protected by a wooden wall with a gated entrance, just like the bar. I also added some stairs to the roof, a rain collector barrel and a plumbed sink below it, just to see how it works.

Next job, probably tomorrow now, I shall go on the hunt for the new trailer genny...
