Keegans Export
Could be that if clubs can't/don't pay the fine, points deductions are the punishment?

timeEd32
It makes sense - they don't want to go back to a club / nation being able to completely take the piss. And it wouldn't make sense with UEFA's rules anyway. But new rules with defined penalties and the ability to go even 10% above whatever limit would be a vast improvement. No matter what comes in increasing revenue is still going to be paramount.
Keegans Export
Scrapping the rules on FMV/related party transactions would be massive for us, even if FFP was largely unchanged otherwise.
Stottie
My guess about all this is whatever happens will be the league jumping before they are pushed, i.e., before legal action from the clubs.

RobsonsWonderland
Think the pl might have just seen the bigger picture. If pif related funds are e allowed to sponsor Newcastle.. it allows us to feed the whole market. We pay 100 million for player A, they can then either balance their books or spend 50 mil on a new player... Who then allows the next club and the next club to do the same (minus agent fees lol) FFP essentially built a dam to stop new funds flowing through the system.. without investment it soon dries up

Novocastrian
They have to change the rules - the current rules have done their job maintaining the status quo but they are now starting to affect the favoured 5/6 too.
Stifler
So they rush in to bring in rules to try and prevent our takeover from meaning anything. This means that they have to give Everton and Forest points deductions, with Leicester due one if they come up. At the same time, Chelsea are on the verge of a major points deduction, Spurs have announced massive losses, Man Utd have had a partial takeover which will mean fuck all, and Arsenal are kicking up a fuss about not being able to afford a new forward, and now they are on about changing it?
