Personally, I hate Man Utd mostly because of two things: 1. Their absolute legions of arsehole fans who backed a winner in the 90s and have barely been to a game (lots of Scottish Man Utd fans for that reason + fergie - why not pour their effort and support into their own shite depressing league). 2. The heartbreak they doled out to me as a young kid.

So while they aren’t rivals and I don’t hate them like the Mackems, I would gladly see them fold and fuck off forever if that was an option.

Irish are the worst for it

Could be no Casemiro, Eriksen or Sabitzer on Sunday. Varane and Rashford carrying knocks. Should be pretty comfortable for you in the end.

Apart from Casemiro i'm expecting all of them to start apart from maybe Eriksen who might be on the bench after his injury.

Rashford will play for sure. It’s fairly obvious he pulled out of the England squad purely just to rest and take a break. He’s played a lot of games in a such short space of time this year so I have no issue with ‘knock’ he’s carrying to get out of international duty

Dangerous game to play though if he is serious about wanting to achieve something with England. Him/his people will be the first to complain when he doesn't start at the next major tournament but things like this will be the reason why.

That's funny since the team you will put out will probably have cost four times as much as our side.

True. My (made up) belief is that he was told Southgate straight and that’s why Southgate wasn’t bothered when asked the question about him being in New York. I’d like to think people can have these conversations in football, but who knows

Casimero being out will be good for us no doubt, but considering his replacement is a player who Howe supposedly wants to upgrade our midfield, it's a bit of a piss take to suggest this is going to be anything other than a very tight game. A draw would be the bookie's best bet IMO, but hopefully we will be in the frame of mind to win by any means necessary.

Probably because for the last 14 years (and probably before that too)  preceding the takeover about £800 was put into our ‘academy’

Actually didn't realise how much you've spent and you're still minnows for now. Crazy.

How's it crazy? Player fees have quadrupled since the days you bought many of those you mentioned. We still haven't paid for a top tier player, you probably paid that for half of your team.

Just to back up what I said earlier, our top two signings since the takeover were Bruno £40m - Man U paid £60m for a 31 year old in comparison - and Isak for £60m, where to buy a top tier striker these days you are talking £100m at least.

It's not an unreasonable point but interesting not including cost of the respective benchs, what with Sancho on there... :P

I like how you've conviently not included Murphy and Longstaff who are nailed on to start, there is also a pretty decent chance that Anderson starts too dependent on the injury status of ASM

Which would mean:

Pope - £10m

Trippier - £12m

Schar - £3m

Botman - £32m

Burn - £13m

Guimaraes - £40m

Longstaff - £0

Willock - £25m

Anderson - £0m

Murphy - £11m

Isak - £63m

Total: £211m
