Just like Isak or any other player, including Bruno. If they go, they go for the best, top, emphatic price we can command for them. We are not Real Madrid/Barcelona and never will be. It will always hurt when someone goes to some degree or another but the team must always evolve. Then we must trust that the people in charge make the right decisions about replacements and development.

If his contract is up in 2028 and he won’t sign a new one then this summer is the last chance to get a decent fee.

It’s probably a sale that we sadly have to make really. Incredible defender but as others have said his attacking output and ability in the final third is really poor. I don’t think it’d be the end of the world.

Yes but we need to get ahead of it better, problem seems to me is that every time we need to sell we need to replace, but even replacing beforehand in the same window is not ideal. We should really try and have replacements in the season before to bed into the squad, then we can sell smart and sell knowing we're covered. It's what the other clubs whom are aware players will often be poached do. We seem caught surprised when we overperform while paying players little compared to the traditional rich clubs can afford. We will eventually be able to compete on wages etc but probably not for a few more seasons (Hopkinsons number one in 5 years is a mad goal, i like the ambition but think that's going to haunt him a little)

We aren’t going to ever progress if we’re letting em take an open swing at our players in the hope that they maybe give us a few scraps from their plate.

Well then lets have a repeat of the Isak saga, have it drag on throughout the summer without signing a replacement and then find ourselves scrambling for a RB in August when the player inevitably forces the move and then we're the ones who end up getting rinsed.

Yeah any hamstring injury where it looks like it goes and the player hobbles off are usually quite serious.

I do have sympathy for him. It feels like whenever he comes back from an injury we always end up having to throw him straight back in to too much football and he breaks again.

Has he become a bit injury prone? He’s missed quite a few games for us now hasn’t he?

I don’t think he’s looked anywhere near his best since his last injury, either. Lacked his usual pace and quickness when defending 1 v 1.

Really could have done with him against City, mind.
