He hasn’t lost his place at Newcastle FFS, he was rotated out for a couple of games.

I feel like I’m going bonkers here

He did lose his place though, and for defensive deficiencies. It might have only been for a couple of games but it's just semantics to argue otherwise.

Who is our first choice LB and who will start next season as our LB? Who is our best LB by miles? Lewis Hall, overblowing this end of season rotation is being wilfully obtuse.

Ok if the words lost his place are too problematic, lets just say he was dropped instead. From the Newcastle team for a couple of teams, due to defensive blunders, and also from the England team following that.

Since then there's been speculation about him moving on. Whether that's true might be debatable but there it is.

I don’t even think he was dropped due to defensive blunders TBH.

Ok he was strategically realigned from both the Newcastle team and the England squad then. How about that?

I just can’t see him leaving this summer, I’m not concerned about this. He’s one of the best young left backs in the world, he has 3 years left on his contract, and would cost a bomb (reports of £50m just tell me the journalist has no idea). Next summer, if he hasn’t signed a new contract by then, I’ll worry.

If he stays beyond  the summer if his reported wage of 45k is true I wouldn't be waiting until next year to sit him down.

Delaying and waiting because you  have a decent number of years left on his contract dont mean much wr found that out last summer.

He is defensively deficient. That and lacks stamina. Always seems to drop off physically and then mentally last 15mins.

Maybe an explanation in there for our 25/26 results overall.

He is also the second best player we have at the club after Bruno.

Depends on how you want us to play. If you want us to win things the way Arsenal did defensively strong then Tino. So its wrong to say he’s our best LB back miles,  as lovely a footballer as he is.

He’s got lovely ability and nice on the eye. Would’nt say he’s the second best player we have when played at LB against certain types of opponents. His job is mainly to defend.

He was never really clearly in the lead for England because of O'Reilly having such a good season. But we're getting there.

Tino's future is at RB, I'm sure.

I’m not ignorant to where you are coming from, however he started LB for England last game. There are definitely question marks over which side suites him best.

Think I prefer him on the left to as per in the cup final and that last good run we went on 24/25 when Hall was injured.

I just don't see why he would end up being a better LB. Are there any inverted fullbacks in the PL?

When we have Hall in the squad, it should be non-question for NUFC specifically. Play them both on their natural sides, there's no other sensible option IMO.

FWIW I can't see him leaving either, I think we will price him out of any move. I'm sure if a club was to come in with an eye-watering bid we would consider it, but how likely is that to happen?

We've seen it with our own eyes. He performed better at LB for us.

To a certain extent, but how the team played and who else was available is also a massive factor. It's not just black and white that Tino on the left is definitely better. If Tino stays fit in a decently-performing team, I expect he'll be just as good at RB.

If we didn't have Hall in the squad maybe it would be worth discussing further, I just don't see it.

Absolutely; you don't drop Hall to play Tino on the left.

I do sadly think one of them will be leaving though.

Because he’s a better defender than Hall and going forward with Barnes in front of him it (the balance) seems to work better.

Until Hall becomes a great defender along with being a great “footballer” there will always be question marks between the two.

I thought Tino would go but it seems to have died down a bit now. Probably due to his injuries.

This Hall thing is completely made up and IMO there's no chance he leaves.

There are certainly some whispers about Hall leaving. Let's hope they're made up.

I don't fully agree, Tino is a better 1-v-1 defender but Hall is more intelligent and reads the game better. And probably more committed. He's also more able to relieve pressure by running with the ball or playing out of tight situations. And Hall is obviously infinitely better going forward.

Anyway, even if what you say is right the overall team is still best served with Hall LB and Tino RB. With the squad as it is now obviously.

And I also think TIno is much more likely to leave than Hall.

Famous last words... 🤣

There was no way Isak was leaving remember? The owners insisted he wouldn't be going anywhere.

Everyone has a price...
