Could probably go 18-19 year old striker as a more appropriate comparison given how keepers tend to be at their peak slightly older. He's pretty much done the goalkeeping equivalent of that, anyway. Was more of a reply to the sarcastic poster saying real madrid would want him cos I asked if he was really good with his feet or coming for crosses etc

Aye. Waiting for Keith Downer to be along with “talks ongoing, nothing imminent and clubs aren’t close on a fee”.

Think it's been mentioned a few times on here that keepers and clubs seem to get creative with their heights Thats true. Dan Burn is only 5ft11. Abacus Posted yesterday at 11:31 Share Posted yesterday at 11:31 Be delighted with this, a long term target and obviously wanted for a reason. Quite excited to see what he brings to us and our play. For all the slow build sometimes feels painful, it's always fun to see how these signings always seem to move us up a gear.
alexf Posted yesterday at 11:32 Share Posted yesterday at 11:32 I know it was a bad season to judge him on when they went down 2 years ago. But he really did seem to struggle. Am I right in thinking corners in particular were a real weakness for him? Seems to have bounced back this year in the championship, but the standard and the lack of shots he faced thanks to their defence makes it hard to assess his true ability. If we do sign him, hopefully people have patience () as clearly we are buying him for the long term and there is bound to be a settling and adjustment period to playing in our stadium and in the champions league etc.
TBG Posted yesterday at 11:36 Share Posted yesterday at 11:36 Would you rather £30m on Trafford, or £30m spent on the wages for Wilson, Pedro, Elanga and Calvert Lewin? And no you can't have all.

STM Posted yesterday at 12:37 Share Posted yesterday at 12:37 Could see Man United or Spurs coming in for Pope if we got Trafford. In fact, any side in the league who's got a duff keeper will be looking at Pope. I think the plan is to have both for a year before moving Pope on next summer. SteV Posted yesterday at 12:43 Share Posted yesterday at 12:43 Pope’s out of contract next summer. Debatable how much we’d get selling now, so we might think it’s worth the hit of letting him go for free next year, after a year of making sure Trafford has had to fight to be number one. JUICE690 Posted yesterday at 12:44 Share Posted yesterday at 12:44 (edited) If Pope could kick, he'd be up there with the best in the league I reckon. How has he not improved? So irritating. Comes across as such a lovely chap as well. Maybe it just get's in his head too much. Edited yesterday at 12:45 by JUICE690
