Are we? Thought our latest bid was 'insufficient'.

Has this cunt even earned all this flapping about?

Labeled as "insufficient" by Ornstein but also stated by others it was the right price but wrong structure.

I'm not blindly believing anything Ornstein says now, he's no longer the oracle everyone thought he was.

Finding it hard to care or have any time for a player who's finding this to be a difficult decision tbh.

Not being funny, but the lad is 22 years old about to move for a record transfer (if it's here, I can't remember Man Utd record transfer) and to the most popular league in the world.

I can see why he's taking his sweet time over it, I get why everyone is agitated but acting like this is an easy decision is wild to me.

Not really about Leipzig anymore though. It's about Sesko now. We're clearly willing to pay what the club wants but we are waiting for Sesko to agree to it now. Can't wait around forever though, if he hasn't decided by midweek, we need to move on and go for the next target.

We had our bid rejected, so we aren’t willing to pay it - or haven’t been so far.  Šeško has nothing to agree to if we can’t get a bid accepted.

If the bids and personal terms are about the same a footballer from Slovenia who is 22 and a few months (and has probably been told he's one of the best since he was in short trousers) will be asked to chose whether he wants to play for Manchester United or Newcastle United.  If you were a 22yo from Slovenia which one would you pick?

This transfer window is sending home just how difficult it's going to be to land the top players who have options.

It shows the need to keep hold of a manager over a number of years who can do a bit each season to improve our attraction to the top class players.

I think I won't be the only one here who is bored to fuck with this saga. Lost interest since about Friday and at this point don't really care.

For me part of it is the lack of enjoyment your likely not to be allowed to have frpm it. 5 years ago 70m entire summer budgets would be pipe dreams they now single player bids.

However we all know as soon as the signing is made it will be:

Newcastle secure isak replacement.

Signing paves way for liverpool to get their man.

How long can Newcastle hold onto isak now they have player in etc etc

I suspect too many on here have spent the last year or two convincing themselves that Man Utd are ‘finished’.  They’re nothing of the sort and have far more draw than us.

If they finish 17th for the next ten seasons, maybe the sheen will rub off.  Maybe.

Assumptions only. I have never seen said clips.

Who was the lad jerking it aside Saliba?

We bid exactly what it was quoted that Leipzig wanted for him. It's been noted in various places, the prices was acceptable but not the structure of the deal. As for Sesko agreeing or not, we've been seeing it happen to us all summer. Other clubs agree things with the player beforehand and then come in with a bid, just as Man Utd seem to be doing with Sesko. So yes it is pretty important to have the go ahead from the player as it speeds things up once a bid it accepted and (hopefully) stops another club swooping in under us.

Him being 22 is why I think it should be easy tbh. When you look at the player development at both clubs it's chalk and cheese.

The prestige and size are heavily in Man United's favour but that hasn't translated onto the pitch or to improving players for a very long time, so it does make me wonder what his priorities are in terms of what he wants to get out of the move.

The papers saying it’s acceptable is one thing - but the club rejecting it tells you that the hacks were wrong.

I agree re what’s been going on all summer - the problem is that once again we’re bidding for players that the big six want, but we offer lower wages and lower prestige.   Our support seems to think that if we say the word ‘project’ that top players will go ‘fair enough - I’ll sign up’.  Yet what is the ‘project’?  A new stadium?  Man Utd are further ahead on that front.  ‘In ten years we’ll be up there’? Great, but that means fuck all to a twenty-odd year old.  ‘Look at what we’ve done for Isak’ - well, we’ve been paying him well below the market rate, won’t sell him to a top club and apparently reneged on a new contract.

I wouldn’t blame Šeško for wanting to think about it.

Perhaps with footballers and Man Utd it's like that thing with girls and "bad guys". They all think they'll be the one to change him even though they can see all the ones who have come before and failed miserably. Yet they still try because they buy them loads of presents and take them for fancy dinner at first before making them cry everyday and ruining their entire life in the space of a year.
