This is the best scenario. We get to keep Isak , and liverpool and manutd can fuck off :)

There's keeping Isak and then there's keeping an Isak that doesn't want to be here. Either way, if he's carrying an injury or not, he won't be starting for us next weekend at Villa even if he is our player. He's had no pre-season.

Well we know he doesn’t want to be here. But he could learn to accept it after a few weeks back with the lads.

Of course the start of the season is gone, it’s about the longer view now.

I mean never say never when Saudi exists but I don't see anyone giving you 43m for him.

Christopher Vivell was from RB Leipzig, now wants a Leipzig player for Man U.

Our new "Technical Director" "Suds" Gopaladesikan was from Atalanta, and was responsible for signing Hojlund there......Because of Sesko, Hojlund is now surplus to requirements.

It's all coming up Rasmus!

True but won't happen. Hoijlunds metrics aren't great in this league. He wont look good to data nonces anymore.

I would have concerns with Isak playing for us this coming season, not over the first 20 or so games, but in the "run-in", over the 10 most crucial games of a season where trophies and league places are decided. There's no way in my mind he could be trusted to apply himself fully in those games given his behaviour, which is why making sure we secure Wissa is going to be crucial to us imo.

Oh well. Another one bites the dust.

I was very excited if not a tad trepidatious about us spending so much money on him. That was as much to do with PSR as it was any concerns I might have about Sesko translating well to English football. It's a gut punch in a summer filled with gut punches, but that's football sometimes. I have to believe the allure of restoring Man Utd and the belief they're on the right track is what convinced him.

I could air some gripes and grievances with PSR, but I've almost put a hole in that drum from banging it this summer. It was never going to be easy to predict the long-term under PIF/Reubens but I certainly didn't expect this. I look forward to seeing how Eddie navigates us out of this.

While we were being made fools of here Villa signed the Guessand lad for 30 mil. Shambolic. Considering the versatilty, age and price tag, how was he not a better shout than a 29 year old Wissa who's going to cost us as much if not more.

The Wissa who scored the most non-penalty goals in the PL last season you mean?

I’ve never heard of him or seen him play, so can’t help you there.

I think the long term is still good, it's more the medium term I'm worried about because our executive structure fell apart. On a long enough time horizon, we're going up.

I hope you’re right. To me, the next couple of weeks are pivotal though.

If we can’t get players in, I think this ends up being one of those windows like after finishing 3rd 20 or so years ago, and 5th in 2012.

I don’t think we can compete on all fronts as it is and the league form will suffer most. In the medium to long term we’ve got too many players 30+ and if we cannot cope with all the games and finish somewhere like 8th to 10th (which I think is entirely possible), the sharks will be all over our better players like Tino, Hall and Tonali. Would players like Bruno and Botman want to go back to the start of a ‘new project’ again. The new CEO and DoF could be tasked with a total rebuild.

That’s my fear anyway. That this summer was the opportunity to push on and consolidate. To date we’ve totally wasted it. Something which could set the club back years again.

Apart from Isak (19), Haaland (19) and Salah (20).

It’s Wissa’s age and perceived sell on value that’s the issue.

Wissa scored 18. I agree that it's impressive, but you can't say he scored the most non penalty goals when 3 players scored more. Not that it matters that much.

I am sorry but i really do not care about the sell on and age going into this season, at this point, we've got 4 competitions and we need to be competitive. I appreciate squad planning for sure, but we need to make some risks and gambles at this point or we're in for a rough one.
