Which is why the best way to interpret news like this is to ask who would have leaked this information to him and for what purpose.

 

Could it be the player's agent using us to drum up interest because he's concerned that big clubs are running out of money and he might not get a move this summer? Maybe, in which case, there's probably no real movement.

 

Could it be someone in our club, as a PR move to try to placate the angry fanbase? Maybe, in which case, there may be something more here.

He's rangy, had early promise, but hasn't quite hit the big boy goalscoring numbers. If I'm a cynic, he can barely break 15 in the Bundesliga. The summer window is feeling hectic.
